High Places

I love high places While my heart resolves
- the top of the hill Its griefs and desires
Where the wind races In the perspectives
And birds come to fill Of the hill’s pleasures.
Their hearts with delight Then let me climb high
At the blue distance To where I belong;
Their songs must aim at. This hill-top, where I
All round, the immense Am cloud, space, birdsong.
Sky reaches and spins;
Cloud shifts and dissolves
As it imagines
Shapes for cloud puzzles,
Люблю я высь, вершины гор,
Где ветер мчит во весь опор,
Куда стремятся стаи птиц,
Где нет запретов, нет границ
Их песнь пронзает в глубину
Небесную голубизну.
Там трогаешь небесный свод,
Там тучи водят хоровод,
Меняя форму без конца,
Чтоб озадачить мудреца.
И там, на фоне вечных гор
Мои проблемы – просто вздор.
Хочу туда, там место мне,
В той поднебесной вышине.
Там вырастают крылья, там
Привольно мне, как облакам.
