"Collection of eurybiotic species of lactic acid bacteria in Armenia  resulting from floristic research in bacteriology". By S.Rosen S.,P.Ter-Simonian , A.Sagoian, K.Vegapetian, M.Chobanian and I.Djaparidze. //Annual meeting of the Israel society for microbiology, February 5 and 6, 1996.  The Hebrew University-Hadassah medical School, Ein Karen, Jerusalem, p. 24.

During the period from 1963 to 1985 at the Armenian Agricultural academy (formerly Yerevan Zootechnic and Veterinary Institute), we isolated approximately 5000 strains of lactic acid bacteria from dairy products, plants and feces.

Among the eurybiotic species found were Streptococcus faecalis, Str. bovis, Str. lactis,Leuconostoc paramesenteroudes, Lactobacillus salivarius, L. plantarum.

The collection now has approximately 300 strains wich are being inoculated into milr at 35-40 grad C, and used as starters for making different types of Armenian cheeses as well as full milk products.

Full information about these strains was published in 1989 in a paper "Lactic acid bacteria flora of Armenia".
