8:42am.
Missed exercises, except basic gymnastics. Now, I’m gonna watch Cathrin’s videos. I decided to add to my analysis the description of her introductions and conclusions, so I’ll be able to look closely at what she’s doing. I don’t have a year to get monetized on youtube. I must do it faster. At the end of this year, I have to get 1,000 subs.
Here is today’s first video: Why I’m Changing My Upload Schedule + Other Changes Coming to my Youtube Channel This Year 2020. 777 comments. 1.1k likes. 16,081 views. Jan 31, 2020.
Intro: “Hello guys, what is up, welcome back to my channel. Today I really just wanna sit down and chat with you guys why I’m changing my uploading schedule and some things that are going to be changing within my youtube channel kinda this year. Now, do not be worried, I’m not going to move away from talking youtube, sharing all the tips and tricks and my strategies. And really there is a lot that goes in like business of youtube and I wanna dive a lot more in that this year but still staying the same. My uploading schedule is changing, yes, and maybe kinda way that I create my videos—a little bit more of like the topics that I create within my channel and I just I wanna talk to you guys about the whole, entire process how I came to this decision; and if you’re struggling to figure out what days to upload, what times to upload, or just finding your strategy that really works for you, I wanna talk about my experience with this and just lay it all out there online for you guys and hopefully this can help at least one of you.”
Conclusion: “Thank you for hanging out with me; you can go on about your day and I’ll see you guys back here with a new upload on Tuesday. Bye guys.”
So, once again, she has a goal to grow her channel, talking about all the things she’s doing. Publishing videos twice a week and improving their quality is her success formula. It’s like the main algorithm; everything else depends on her personality and feedback from the audience.
What was my strategy? Investing in my personality, developing myself to the point where I can make the best decisions every moment? In other words, it’s about developing my neural network, so that it can instinctively find the best course of action.
Youtube is a network that processes the information uploaded by the group mind while interacting with the changing world. More and more people want to be part of this network. Helping them figure out how to make it happen is what’s on demand.

Accomplished my publishing routine. Now, it’s time to get back to studying Cathrin. The next video is HOW TO CREATE VIDEOS LIKE THE CONTENBUG: Equipment, Canon m50 settings, filming process & more. 649 comments. 1.7k likes. 25,009 views. Feb 4, 2020.
Intro: “So you wanna learn how to create videos like the contentbug? Well, the other day I was on instagram and I received aDM from one of you guys saying that another youtube creator ended up coming with a video talking about how to create thumbnails like the contentbug. Like me! And although I think it’s really awesome that other people are not only talking about my strategies and really just trying to help you guys that you guys can grow on youtube just like I have done. I really think that if you guys want to learn how I do certain things you should really hear it from me and get the real strategies that go behind that. So it today’s video, this is going to be the start of a new series on my channel. I want to do a lot of videos sharing how to do things like the contentbug.”
This one was quite informative. I’ve realized that every video is like a film or a play with a few acts and many different scenes. I think it’s gonna be useful to apply this knowledge preparing my next video.
Back to Cathrin. I signed On with AN INFLUENCER MANAGEMENT AGENCY?! A BUSY DAY IN THE LIFE of a full YouTuber. 662 comments. 1k kile, 18,493 views. Feb 7, 2020.
Intro: “Good morning guys! What is up? Welcome back to my channel. Today’s video is gonna be a day in a life. I dunno about you guys, but I’m obsessed with these videos that even this morning when I was making my breakfast, I was watching a vlog by Aspen and Parker, and it was just a day in their life and I’m obsessed with these videos I feel it’s like all I watch on youtube these days. But I wanna to create one myself, specifically today, because I feel like in my vlogs in a past I shared a lot of filming youtube videos, editing youtube videos and just basic task work; where there is so much more goes into being a youtuber, being a content creator, being a business owner. And I feel like today is just a great day to vlog because I do have two podcast interviews today, so it’s a little bit fun and exciting; it’s not a typical day in my life, I guess you can say, because I don’t have podcast interviews that often, and I have done I think four, five podcasts in a past, and the last what I did was back in October, but just was when my youtube channel was just starting to blow up and I really wanted focus all my time and energy into my content, so now I feel like I’m at the point where I’ve got a good handle on my content and had a couple of people really interested connecting with not only just talking to them, but also being on their podcast. I think it’s cool opportunity.”
A couple of introductions is gonna be enough for one day. I’m feeling like a pedant scrutinizing her speech. Yet, I wanna watch more videos: What Happened to MY YOUTUBE ADS REVENUE After The Holidays/January 2020 Analytic & Revenue Report. 610 comments. 1.1k likes. 17,859 views. Feb 11, 2020.
Actually, I’m very tired of this silly girl. I don’t think I’ll find enough motivation to watch all of her other videos. I don’t think anything is gonna change. She’ll talk more and more about her statistics, share how much money she makes, vlog her daily routine, sell some shit to naive viewers, etc. I guess, I’ll watch a couple of her last videos and then move on to the next “creator.”
1:30pm.
I need to write a script for the end of my video. Let’s do it now. “If you’re still watching this video, here is my plan. I started this project 18 days ago, so there is something to tell you. First off, I’ve read a couple of business books and recorded a video where I talked about money. Then, I decided to search for information that could help me improve the quality of my content. I got on youtube, typed “how to start a youtube channel,” and wrote down 50 titles suggested by algorithms in order to see what kinda things are recommended more than others, and who are the most popular people talking about these things. After that, I began to watch one of these people, Cathrin Manning, to figure out what I should do to grow on youtube. In the last four days, I’ve watched 40 of her videos, making notes and trying to put together everything I’ve learned. In the following videos, I’m gonna get into details and tell you more about it.”
I think the title may be: Do You Really Need Subscribers to Create a Great Youtube Channel?
So it’s almost done. I’ll add an intro with music and a few clips, write a description, set up cards and some pictures, and that’s it.
5:29pm.
Spent a couple of hours shopping for food, cooking, eating and thinking about next moves. Now, it’s time for Youtube Creator Academy.
Lesson 4: Let cards and end screens do the work.
Cards are preformatted notifications that appear on desktop and mobile which you can set up to promote your brand and other videos on your channel.
End screens are a powerful tool which can help extend watch time on your channel by directing viewers to something next at the end of your videos.
-Promote the most relevant content to your viewers.
-Encourage your viewers to click.
-Make sure your cards and end screens appear at the right time.
Damn it! Why am I thinking about watching Cathrin’s videos again? Have I already become addicted?

She’s a powerful manipulator and does a pretty good job with emotional connections to the audience. In other words, she’s a great actor. If I didn’t see through her, I would also call her transparent.

No wonder. This girl talks about personality! Nobody cares about your personality since everyone has their own. What am I talking about? Maybe I just don’t like her? I certainly don’t like her vlog.

Was I supposed to give up watching Cathrin? Yeah, today is the day when I’ve spent more time than ever listening to her. A few important things to note are her decision to split her videos in the vlog-style and the tips-tricks-style, and her “transparency” which was played out quite well. She chases numbers and competes for public attention, like as if she were totally nuts, working day in and day out, all day long, but “what’s behind it” is “her love for creating content.” She is so self-delusional. This talk about being an influencer and helping people unleash their potential as a prime motivation—it’s like I were trying to convince myself that all these numbers are really important, but in reality not giving a fuck about them, turned upside down. Of course, it’s hard to admit that you’re a fucking bitch, ambitious, wild, damn bitch who is madly focused on dominating in everything and eating whatever there is to eat in order to grow your… dick. I wanna help YOU guys, you’re everything! You—
