С 20 января на протяжении первого полугодия температура неуклонно растет вплоть до 21 июля. 21 июля – день максимальных среднесуточных температур в году в Северном полушарии Земли. После 21 июля среднесуточные температуры неуклонно падают - до 20 января следующего года. Год, таким образом, подобно маятнику (относительно среднесуточных температур) колеблется между крайними температурными точками – 20 января и 21 июля.
