The Philologoddess
She was a romantically inclined girl from a wealthy family, he was an unemployed poet in his thirties. She fell in love with him at first sight, he perhaps at second. For her, he became the best man in the world, for him she became a wonderful stranger. In the town of empty trolleybuses they were looking for each other long before they met. But she didn't notice the all-consuming prose of a semi-impoverished existence behind the sonorous rhymes of his poems. She was far from that, being the only child of wealthy parents. The hustle and bustle of events swirled around them, the faces of acquaintances changed. She was returning to a well-fed life, and he was freezing at bus stops waiting for the last bus. It wasn't her fault that he had abandoned laws and rules. It wasn't his fault that she didn't remember his poems by heart.
