Lev Tolstoy The Stubborn Mare

     Once, a man would had to cross over the river. There was a commuter-ferry that conveyed the goods and men over the watercourse.
    The man unharnessed the mare, and he pushed the cart onto  the ferry; however the mare was stubborn and it didn't move to the boat.
    The fellow was pushing it off and pulling it on to, but he couldn't move it on to the ferry, anyway. Then, he pushed all its buttons, also without any result.
    Finally, he made up the way to pull the mare by its tail, moving it of and away of the water. So, as far as the mare was stubborn, it has taken the opposite way and it came exactly on to the ferry.

   Мужику с возом надо было ехать через реку. Через реку ходил паром. Мужик отпрёг лошадь и свёз телегу на паром; но лошадь была упряма и не хотела идти на паром.
   Мужик тащил её из всех сил за повод и не мог ввести на паром. Потом он стал толкать её сзади, но не мог ссунуть с берега.
   Тогда он вздумал тащить её за хвост прочь от воды. Лошадь была упряма и пошла не туда, куда её тащили, и вошла на паром.
