     Once, a squirrel was jumping the branches of a tree and it fell down landing exactly on a sleepy wolf who slept under the dense crown of a tree.
     The wolf jumped up promptly and he was going near to eat the squirrel. However, the fluffy beast began to moan and beg for mercy. It asked:
- Just let me off.
The wolf said:
- Well, I'll let you loose, just tell me sincerely: why are you - squirrel so happy? I am always bored, whereas you are playing and jumping joyfully up there, each time I look at you.
The squirrel said:
- Firstly, let me out, to get the uptree, I'll answer from up there, otherwise I'm frightened by you.
The wolf did and the squirrel jumped off and climbed the tree, and it said, sitting in the tree:
- You are bored just because you are malicious. You bear your malice to other animals and your heart is harmed with the flame of your own anger. You are jumping up and down, whereas we don't have a spite agains somebody, we are kind. Thus, we are happy and joyful. I meant no harm...

Лев Толстой. Сказка «Белка и волк»
 
    Белка прыгала с ветки на ветку и упала прямо на сонного волка. Волк вскочил и хотел ее съесть. Белка стала просить:
– Пусти меня.
    Волк сказал:
– Хорошо, я пущу тебя, только ты скажи мне, отчего вы, белки, так веселы. Мне всегда скучно, а на вас смотришь, вы там наверху всё играете и прыгаете.
    Белка сказала:
– Пусти меня прежде на дерево, а оттуда тебе скажу, а то я боюсь тебя.
    Волк пустил, а белка ушла на дерево и оттуда сказала:
– Тебе оттого скучно, что ты зол. Тебе злость сердце жжёт. А мы веселы оттого, что мы добры и никому зла не делаем.
