Lev Tolstoy The Mosquito and the Lion

      Once, a mosquito landed near a lion and it said:
- "Do you mean that you are stronger than I am? Look at him! Or so he says! What of it?! You do scratch with your claws, your teeth are sharp and you do gnaw well with them but! What are we the better for it all? The women are gifted with the same treasure and they are able to fight men exactly the same way as you do. I am stronger than you! Would you like to prove it?
I think it's time we made our stand.

      The mosquito sounded and the lion was bitten off by the mosquito exactly in his tender cheeks and sensitive nose. Lion tried to protect himself, however he was just beating and scretching himself up and tore up his snout with his own paws. The mosquito sounded happily and flew off the battle, getting a win over the terrible rival.

      However it was captured into United spider webs. Within a spider was sucking him out, it thought:
- "When spider webs unite, they can halt even the lion."

Лев Толстой.Басня «Комар и лев»

    Комар прилетел ко льву и говорит:
- «Ты думаешь, в тебе силы больше моего? Как бы не так! Какая в тебе сила? Что царапаешь когтями и грызешь зубами, это и бабы так-то с мужиками дерутся. Я сильнее тебя; хочешь, выходи на войну!»
     И комар затрубил и стал кусать льва в голые щеки и в нос. Лев стал бить себя по лицу лапами и драть когтями; изодрал себе в кровь все лицо и из сил выбился. Комар затрубил с радости и улетел.
    Потом запутался в паутину к пауку, и стал паук его сосать. Комар и говорит:
- «Сильного зверя, льва, одолел, а вот от дрянного паука погибаю».
