Wait For Me, And I ll Be Back K. M. Simonov
You just have to wait.
Wait for me, when you feel sad,
Watching autumn rain.
Wait for me, if there is snow,
Wait, if there is heat.
Wait for me, when others don’t,
Forgetting things we did.
Wait for me, when there are no
Letters, I sent you.
Wait for me, when you are tired,
Hoping dreams come true.
Wait for me, and I’ll be back.
Do not trust the men
That will tell you, to forget
Who or where I am.
Let my mother and my son
Think of me no more.
Let my dear and faithful friends
Drink the wine of gore.
They will drink it, on my grave,
So my soul can rest.
Wait. And do not drink with them,
For you still have faith.
Wait for me, and I’ll be back,
In spite of all the deaths.
All of them, who did not wait,
Will say that luck’s the case.
And they can’t imagine that,
Through the blazing flame
I was carried without harm
By your faithful name.
Only we will know the truth,
Of how did I survive.
Only you had faith for me
And you have saved my life.
