Parable 1999

Once upon a time during excavations in Jordan in the ruins of a time-engrossed ancient temple, archaeologists found a strange parchment. All the explorers, archaeologists, anthropologists were absolutely convinced- the manuscript is a message from God himself. The whole group of authorities who took part in the excavations realized the absurdity of what they had just said but they were so convinced that it was right that they were ready to risk their prestige and the confidence they were granted by the academic circles. The news about this event did not go round the world because “that several scientists have gone insane should not shatter the community like a false sensation.” 

The beginning of some expedition aiming to explore something in Jordan had a short description in the archives of the ‘B***126’ University but the reports about the data it gathered by the time of the planned studies were nowhere to be found. The result of the expedition as well as the date when it ended also lacked.

In fact, it is not even clear what was written on the parchment. There is no doubt that the message stayed in history unsolved and unexplained. Some say that the Word in the letter of God amazed one’s mind with any conventions, materiality and symbolics. That is why no language could translate the message without ascribing to it completely different ideas from those written in the heavenly text. Every language limited the heavenly word to the boundaries of its own ethimological understanding and gave it a one-sided and unreal direction which was different every time as the so many translations followed on an on. There were no linguistic borders, no words to translate the Message entirely intact, independent and straightforward. Everything was a hypocritical interpretation of the text but nothing was a translation. But…everybody who touched the parchment was able to understand the message only that it could never be explained. Nobody had any difficulty in “imbibing” the heavenly Word but when his/her turn came to explain it to the rest only silence followed. The very realizing that the celestial power existed made it pointless to speak at all, every mortal who touched it was doomed not to share his knowledge with the others. Once he had made the Testament of love, once he had left aside the vanity of searching it, the Creator revealed himself and confirmed once again that it is impossible to contact him through Time…

In fact the temple in Jordan never existed because it had been discovered long ago.
