Generation Gap
Generation gap is a state of mind when the young and the old seem do not understand one another.
The conflict between generations existed throughout the history of mankind. Young people always loved and still love parties and entertainment. Their parents always tried and still try to teach them that work and studies are the keys to success.
The young people explore life by themselves. They prefer to learn the hard way. They act, sometimes succeed, at times make mistakes. However, this is their way to get to know how things work in this harsh life. The elderly feel that they have to protect the young birds that can hardly fly on their own. Therefore, the parents give a lot of advice to their kids. What happens next? Everybody knows! Arguments that turn into fights and even cold wars make life unbearable for both the children and their fathers and mothers.
What is the way out? In my opinion, it looks very attractive, but too hard to fulfill: the parents should live their own life and try to penetrate their children as less as possible. They should bear in mind that life is changing all the time and what was right 20 years ago may be wrong today.
