* * *

Interpretation
Those nights were empty and light,
The bridges gazed at the Neva.
They met aloof to the stranger’s sight,
And simple “you” didn’t suit it right.
And each was young and nice.
But being winged by void
She kept at heart a cube of ice
Under her beautiful and wild disguise.
And always judging strict, yet mild,
He couldn’t, he just couldn’t love!
And she enjoyed him getting vile,
Then teasing him, then making smile.
The stranger wished to hold the stranger’s hand,
And North itself desiring to help
A gorgeous cuddle and a bored resent
Made that lively night come to an end.
And not hurrying to embrace the night
In the light of the desert’s doom
At the ink of the blacky sky
Their soul gave a desperate cry.
