An Open Letter to Ms. Tamar Avia

Dear Ms Avia,

Certainly, you belong to the so-called “left” spectrum of the Israeli society. I have throughly read your point of view and I wish your friends and you read mine the same way.

Of course, you have been chosen to speak out due to one fact only: you fully support Israeli Arabs who enjoy double-standard life.

On the one hand, those ‘poor’ things enjoy all the rights of Israeli citizens. They are represented in the Israeli Parliament; they also have the right to study, enjoy social and medical insurance and so on and so forth. However, I feel like asking you, a Jewish woman, only few mere questions: What do they give back to the State? Are they loyal to the State? Do they serve in the Army or fulfill the so-called ‘National Service’?

Each and every of the above questions has the same, unfortunately, negative reply.
Moreover, they feel no obligations towards the State of Israel and do their best to support any anti-state actions both inside and outside Israeli borders. The people who represent 20 per cent of the population in the Israeli Parliament have proved themselves as ordinary foes of the State, trying to justify such actions as the ‘electorate will’ (Dr. Ahmed Tibi).

On the other hand, the vast majority of Israeli Arabs identify themselves as ‘Palestinians’. Therefore, only a single conclusion may be drawn: the Israeli Arabs accept Israeli citizenship solely per rights, and reject it as far as the duties are concern. No road is ‘one-way’. It should be, and, actually, is ‘round trip’.

Unless it is really true that the Jewish folks have been involved in vandalizing Arab cemeteries in Jaffo, I wish the Authorities require the Arab population to perform the obligations first and then start investigating the cases.

Thank you.
I am,
Truly yours
Z.V.
