Falling stars

Her name was Asteria. That actually means «star» in Greek.

She was transfered in Reta's school this year. Her family was very famous at their area, so everybody wanted to talk to new girl. Reta did also. However, the new girl wasn't so much talkative — she had found some very close friends and from times to times talked to other people. Reta had never been one of them. She was just a usual girl, having no talents or special feautures and not many friends. Her classrooms was at the different hall, and she had no lessons together with Asteria. She certainly wasn't the person the girl was interested in.
However, Reta noticed Asteria in the very first day she came to school. That new girl was shining. She wasn't very beautiful, but she had light... The light that sometimes even dazzled Reta. She was quite surprised then why no one else noticed it. Or probably they did...
After half a year Reta started to notice Looks. She was always quite sensitive to such things, but that time she couldn't find the person who was secretly staring at her. When she felt these glances, she looked around, but couldn't catch a sight of anybody.

Some time after she understood it was Asteria.

The girl was staring at her back, when she was walking along the corridor, or headily glancing on school meetings. Reta couldn't get it. She wasn't remarkable at all. The girl however kept on staring.

One day Reta came to Asteria's classroom — she had to meet a friend. Asteria was there — eating lunch with one of her close friends. Reta was sitting in the far corner of the class, when she heard her name. She looked around and saw how Asteria with laugh gripped mouth of her friend. Then she looked at Reta and said «Sorry». The girls laughed for some time, but Reta wasn't listening. She was scared.
After Asteria left, Reta caught the second girl and asked what they were laughing at. «Asteria said you are her type of girl».
Reta felt fear. She wasn't ready to that, she could never answered such feelings. She wasn't good enough for shining girl, that light was still hazing her. And when next day Asteria asked Reta to talk, she just whispered «no» silently and ran away.

Reta once read in the book that stars can fall. However it was the first time she actually saw fallen star.
Lookind at her pale face, Reta was trying to find the remaining light. There wasn't any left. Nothing is left, when the star perishes...
Tonight Reta was looking at the falling stars and was falling with them.
