The greatest challenge for us in this generation lies not in the future, but in the past. As long as the bodies remain unburied in the graves, there can be no flowers on the graves, no wreathes, no fresh grass. It is a very short-sighted policy to leave the past to its own devices; no, it should be run over merciless, and completely, to be able to yield new crops with new meanings.
We are nowadays like a heron, one foot in the swamp, the other foot in the air... an awkward and precarious position indeed.
