Abou Robert L. S. and his novel Treasure Island

About Robert Louis Stevenson.
Robert Louis Stevenson was born 13 of November 1850 in Scotland. His true name is Robert Lewis Balfour Stevenson. At age of 18 Stevenson rejected word Balfour in his name and in word Lewis changed the way of writing Lewis to Louis (without changing the pronunciation) His childhood was hard and not very happy, because he was ill with tuberculosis, so had to spend a large part of his life outside Britain. His parents and grandparents were engineers. They built lighthouses. Young Stevenson began training at Edinburgh University but he discovered that he wasn’t interested in engineering.

However, he began travelling.  At first it was a tour by canoe along the rivers of France and Belgium. Then he went to North America. There, in California, he fell in love with American woman. Her name was Fanny Osborne. They married after her first marriage ended. Fanny had a son and Stevenson loved his stepson very much. He often used to play with Lloyd.

Once, while playing, they drew an island and marked Spyglass Hill and Skeleton Island on the map. Suddenly Stevenson got an idea for a novel from the game and began writing famous novel.
At first it was a story about Long John Silver under the title The Sea Cook. It appeared as a serial in a boy’s magazine in 1881. Two years later it was renamed Treasure Island and became a complete book. Robert Louis Stevenson dead on Samoa Island 3 December 1894.
About famous novel.
After “Treasure Island” publishing Stevenson became famous all over the world. This novel is about a boy by name Jim Hawkins. He was an innkeeper’s son. Young Jim Hawkins helped mother after his father’s death but once upon a time his life became very cool. When a drunk old sailor named Billy Bones comes in for a drink and dies, Jim gets his hands on an old pirate's treasure map and goes to Treasure Island with Dr. Livesey and Squire Trelawney.

Jim had many adventures and became a real man and gentleman. The whole book is full of unexpected situations and mysteries. Stevenson and his “Treasure  Island” became a real treasure for me and other readers.
