The World around Us

I bet everyone will agree with me if I say that today we live in a technological world. We live in the world where every small work we do depends on technology. Now it is rather difficult to find a person who doesn't use a cell phone or a computer. But even if there exist some people who don't have such gadgets and say that they don't need technology for living they still depend on technology. Their clothes were made with the help of advanced technologies and its transportation was managed by computer systems. As you can see, today technology runs through everything.
But what does it bring to us? Many people say that technology makes the world "a global community", kind of a global village where news and gossips can spread around in a few seconds. You can get any information from any part of the world. Frankly speaking, I don't know whether it's an advantage or disadvantage of technology, but there still remains the fact that globalization is coming next to technology.
The world is changing, and we become different, too. When I was a child I didn't know much about cell phones. So, when I saw it for the first time it was a big surprise for me. Holding a cell phone was just like holding a miracle in your hands. The miracle that could call other miracles even if you were in the street, in the forest or anywhere. It was amazing and fabulous, and it is still so, but I'm not surprised anymore. And who is? Who is surprised at a cell phone which can take pictures and capture videos? Who is surprised at a computer which can connect to the Internet without any additional devices? Almost no one.
Nowadays we don't treat such things as miracles. Even when new advanced gadgets with an unbelievable variety of functions are invented we don't look at them as we would look at a green dog or a violet elephant, because these things don't surprise us anymore. They have become essential parts of our lives and brought us to a new kind of knowledge. Now we know that many things are possible, and they don't seem to be as marvelous as they were before. They are just usual, sometimes even routine. Technology goes through all spheres of modern life. You may like it or not, but this is the world around us.
