Happy Birthday!

Your mother and father
 or, perhaps, your grandma and grandpa,
 or other nice people gave you this book as a Birthday present.
 
It is possible that your Birthday is today,
or it could be tomorrow,
or maybe it was yesterday,
so today you are already eagerly waiting for the next one.
 
People who have given this book to you as a present
love you very much.
This is the miracle of the Birthday:
people told you, “Happy Birthday”,
because they love you, and if they love you,
you feel happy.

If you already know how to read,
you can read this book by yourself.

If you are just learning,
or are waiting to start learning,
then this book might become
the first book you will have read,
but right now the person
who loves you very much
reads it to you out loud.
 
Anyway, let’s travel to Magic Kingdom of Birthdays,
where I, Birthday Fairy, and my helpers,
Birthday Elves, invite you to be our guest.

It’s easy to arrive here.
You have to only start dreaming
and pronounce the magic words,
“Happy Birthday!” and your dreams
will bring you to our Kingdom.

“Your Highness, welcome to our Magic Birthday Kingdom!”

Yes, yes, that’s not a mistake: you are a “Highness”!
 
In the Magic Birthday Kingdom,
all people who have Birthdays are Princes,
 and Princesses of Birthday,
or they are Kings and Queens of Birthday.

According to our tradition,
all Birthday people come together
to the Square of the Birthday Star
where I, Birthday Fairy,
give them the title of Princes,
 and Princesses of Birthday,
or they are Kings and Queens of Birthday.

You may want to ask, “Where is the Square of the Birthday Star?”

“Of course, it is in the center of the Birthday Kingdom.”

“How does the square look?”

“It looks like a star.”

“Why?” you might ask.

“The star appears in the sky when a person is born.

This star always stays in the sky,
but you can see it better on your Birthday.

You can see stars every day
since every day people have birthdays.
 
Look up in the sky on your Birthday!
Your star will appear the brightest to you.”
 
“Let me tell you a little secret:

even if you look up in the sky any other day,
you will see your star, because it’s yours.

You can also show your star to your friends
and they will see it too.

Now you know
that the stars in the sky
are the Birthday stars and one of them is yours.

The Birthday Star is magical:
wish for something on your Birthday
and your wish will come true. “

“Your Highness probably loves your Birthday
because many friends celebrate it with you?
 
Somebody gives you a delicious and
beautiful Birthday cake with candles.
 
And it is a lot of fun to blow them out.”

“Do you want to know
Why the Birthday cake is always
delicious and nicely decorated?
           Why people put candles on it?

Why the wish you thought of before blowing
the candles will come true?

Do you?”

“Don’t you already know the answers?”
 
“Oh, you don’t? “

“OK, let me give you a hint:
Why and who gave this book to you?”

“Yes! That’s right!
          The people who love you very much did! 

They wanted to express their love for you!

In the same way that they give you a delicious and beautiful
Birthday cake to wish that your life will be as beautiful as the cake is.
 
The cake is delicious, because it was baked with love for you.

People love you, your Highness, very much,
so you are a good person!

You bring warmth and light to them,
warmth and light,
like the candles on the Birthday cake.”

“Every time your Highness blows the candles,
small Birthday stars fly away;
those stars also help your dreams come true,
the same way as Birthday stars in the sky do.”

“Would you, your Highness,
like to know how the Birthday Kingdom looks like?”

The center of the kingdom is the Square of the Birthday Star.
It welcomes all of those who have birthdays and their guests
with a smile.

          Here is my castle, on the top point of the star.
          It looks like a big birthday cake;
with towers reminding candles rising above. 
Elves and I celebrate peoples’ birthdays
together with them here.

There are palaces of Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses
on the other points of the Square of the Birthday Star.

Our magic land has many different attractions where the Birthday Elves will help you have fun.
 
Our Kingdom welcomes everyone!

We would wish a Happy Birthday to all birthday girls and boys
and their guests, who love them very much, that celebrate their birthdays together with them and wish that the feelings of love and happiness stay with the birthday girls and boys forever.
Your Highness already knows that the most important when you celebrate your Birthday, is to know that there are people who love you just because you were born and you are the way you are.
