I used to be a decent woman. Then I met
The man I loved and I became his wife.
It was so pleasant not to have to sweat
Away the ordinary hours of life.
I liked to shop and buy the children clothes.
We liked to cuddle tight throughout the night.
When he came home I helped him warm his toes.
Alright. Then suddenly he lost his sight.
There’s someone to be with him through the day
While I go on the street. We have to eat.
The council thought the children best away.
They’re learning quickly how to bleat.
Thank Thee O Lord for Thy Divine Mercy.
He cannot see what Thou has done to me.
