Ukraine, Wake up! an Inside Opinion on the Country

There isn’t a single person in Ukraine whom has not been informatively, or via an active civil response, involved in the country’s most dramatic and tragic confrontation since gaining independence in 1991, a clash between Maidan protestors and the government. These active protests have recently taken place throughout most regions within Ukraine, as well as outwards into the rest of the world through Ukrainian nationals residing in other countries. Maidan, as a phenomenon, is an evident representation of the Spirit of the People, while the government is the embodiment of the spirit of the current social and economic elite within the country. This elite varies and is, to a certain extent, directed by the small circle of those whom have concentrated power over the global financial system as well as the mainstream media. I may sound like something of a conspiracy theorist, but it is known that, for these social parasites, Ukraine is within an economic and productive boom, not to mention that the territory itself is rich with resources. The thoughtless accumulation and acquisition of benefits has led to a drastic cutback for those which should have been reserved for our common people, and as a consequence, a confrontation between financial and political groups in Ukraine has emerged surrounding access to the redistribution of these benefits. Obviously, a high degree of the social tension has been drastically elevated whereas the level of personal social responsibility has declined; this especially concerns those whom have felt the pressures of unemployment, forced to endure dwindling funds and any first-hand perspective. This has led to a portion of the population radicalizing and responding to a nation-wide call to take part in this social protest, Maidan.

The final months of 2013 and early days of 2014 have proved that, behind mass actions, huge and powerful financial and political institutions stand. Sluggish discontent — which resulted from the rejection of associating with the European Union — skyrocketed right after the beating of students during a peaceful demonstration. From the point of view of social and humanitarian technologies, that was a well thought-over provocation. To a particular degree, the mass discontent was abused by one financial and economic group in order to weaken the other, specifically the one which was aligned with president Viktor Yanukovych. The events that have led up to the most recent protests have been progressing and escalating much like the scenarios that we saw in Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt when the so-called democracy of the Judo-American variety was about to be imposed.  That said, there is an important aspect that wasn’t taken into consideration by many: Ukrainian people, as a nation, as well as their national spirit, will turn towards a radical reaction when threatened which will range from anarchy to traditionalism.

The process of enslavement and exploitation has always been present in Ukraine due to the country’s mentality and political orientations, as well as external pressures which were aimed at a total marginalization of the Ukrainian ethnicity and its consequential disappearance. The best example is Russia, whom want to engulf and dissolve Ukraine via an extermination of the Ukrainian language, its authentic culture, and its religious and intellectual elite whom reside under Kremlin patriarchy. The aforementioned powerful social parasites treat Ukraine as a labour and consumer resource by attempting the de-spiritualization of the country’s youth through mass media and culture. Through its corrupted officials and leaders, Ukraine has found itself confronted by huge debts — for instance, the mass media, with no concern for the people, has been plunging the country into debt via bribery and blackmail. Everyone whom publicly raises questions as to the true reasoning behind this corrupt economic downturn, on the other hand, risks running into reprisals (crimes against humanity including false imprisonment, torture or even death) or becoming one calling from the wilderness. This means that Ukrainians easily can be, and have been, deprived of their freedom of speech, which itself leads to another fact:  many Ukrainians have lost their natural skepticism and their will to think critically. Since childhood, we have been taught the invented history of Ukraine in which our compatriots have been portrayed as underprivileged and dependent on “fraternal” love, be they Russians, Poles, or Tatar. Ukrainians have been deprived of the freedom of political choice. Our Constitution guarantees the right and freedom to elect and be elected and, de jure, there is an age limit – de facto, there is only financial and property limit.

Yet, more and more Ukrainians consciously or intuitively start grasping the actual situation within the country, and under the pressure of the current Maidan events, there has been forming a critical mass that is made up of those whom will become an example of the new form of the social relations. The pro-government or oppositional camps are quite minor now – common people form a new face of Ukraine in their regions. Ukrainians themselves, without expecting any support or sanctions from the outside, have taken power into their own hands in order to, once and for all, eradicate the violation of the civil freedoms that the government has so criminally violated. The road to the nation’s birth is long and painful, and only via the shattering of the mental status quo can men be awakened from their suspended stupor. Today, Maidan is a wake-up call; the awakening and purification of a nation.
