Little Rain and Sun

Once upon a time there lived Little Rain. He was very gay and naughty.
Sometimes, without asking leave from his mother, he popped out in the street and began to play around.
He pattered the roofs, beat against the windows and turned on the bubbles in the puddles.
And he liked to watch people running about to keep under the covers, jumping merrily over the water torrents.
He was glad that the flowers and the trees were pleased at him. It cheered him up very much and he continued to play pranks even more.
His mother Thundercloud was often cross with him. She grumbled with distant thunder peals.
His mother was very strict. She never let him play in good weather when Sun shone. Mother said that he might become blind of Sun.
So in sunny weather sad Little Rain stayed at home. He watched from a distance how Sun played with his different colours.
And he wished to make himself familiar with Sun and to play with him.
         -  I have transparent water drops, - he thought, - and Sun has different colours. My drops will sparkle so gay if we paint them a little!
One day mother Thundercloud didn’t pay her attention for him, and restless Little Rain popped out from the house.
What a panic began! Little Rain jumped over the roofs, gamboled in the tree brunches, splashed in the puddles.
He simply didn’t want to calm down!
Sun warmed gently everything around and examined his colours without haste.
Sun was very much surprised because he had never met such pranker before.
- Who are you? –Asked Sun.
-   I’m Little Rain! – Answered Little Rain gaily and jumped again and again    on the asphalt.
- What are you for and what are you doing? – Asked Sun again.
- I give water for the flowers and the trees, the animals and the birds to drink. Now I’m just playing pranks. And you?
- And I warm all them up with my heat and give the world my colours. Everything will perish without me! – Answered Sun.
Little Rain was delighted to know that Sun also helped his dearly loved flowers and grass to grow and said:
- Listen, I have many transparent little rain drops. Couldn’t you give me
some of your colours to paint them?
- You may take any what you need!
And they began to examine and to mix the colours and to paint the rain drops.
The drops were sparkling and gleaming. Sun and Little Rain enjoyed themselves.
They made friends. Little Rain was not afraid any more to become blind of Sun.
And before his arrival Sun always prepared bright colours and placed them in the rainbow, so that it was easy for Little Rain to use them.
