Ylf

This story is about boy called Ylf.
Somebody else, instead of him, would be happy, but not this child. It could seem that he had all, but it was only an illusion. His parents were always at their work, and he had always been given to sitter. That’s why he was sad and unhappy very often. Due to all this he was too dreamy, too thoughtful. The thing he mostly loved to do was sitting near by the window, where his favorite books were brought, and looking how birds were flying in the sky. Unlike other boys of his age, he was 5, he had only two wishes: the first one was to go to the trip with parents, no matter where to go, but with whole family; and another one to fly, yes, to fly like that birds, in the heavenly blue sky as deep as the boundless ocean.
It was Ylf’s birthday, the only day, when his parents could be with him and on this one the long-expected trip was planned.
But something was going to happened.
The hard rain was falling from the ashy sky. Ylf was happy but frightened at the same time. And the accident had happened.
Three bodies were taken to the hospital. Two of them were dead bodies, but the child was alive. He had some problems with his spine, so he could not walk any more.
From that moment he hadn’t got anything. He was sent to the orphanage for invalids. He couldn’t understand where his parents were but he knew for sure, they wouldn’t go to trip together as he couldn’t walk.
There, at his new home, he found his first and best friend whose name was Hronas. This boy couldn’t see from birth. He was absolutely blind but it didn’t prevent their friendship.
All this was only three days from Ylf’s birthday.
But his new friend had already shown him the most fantastic place in that building. Of cause it was roof. Blind Hronas couldn’t see the whole beauty of this place, but he could feel the breath of the loving wind and hear the chirping of different birds flying somewhere above his head. But his new friend could describe all this.
So Ylf, who had been lifted there with the Hronas’ help, could continue his observation of the sky.
Two boys were sitting under the lights of westering sun, when Ylf suddenly said: “My second wish was to fly, so I’ll do it now.” He crawled to the barrier near by the end of the roof. It was so suddenly and for this reason Hronas couldn’t do anything. As quickly as he could he came down stairs. His friend was lying on the table. Little boy came near to him and touched Ylf’s face as usual. It was icy cold, but he found smile, the happiest smile he had ever felt. “I’m glad, you are happy now, but how it is to fly?” – He asked - but silence was an answer...
