«Геркулес» отплывает в Кефалонию...

 Отсюда lord призывет вождей  греческого восстания
прекратить протест. Здесь он снабжает повстанцев
оружием, деньгами...

  Порт Миссолонги - резиденцией Маврокордато.
На пути судно  задерживается турецким флотом...

 В Миссолонги Байроном  организовывается отряд
для захвата  города Лепанто,...но... он,
набранный из горного албанского племени,
взбунтовался, и поход в Лепанто  отложен.

19 апреля 1824 года  поэт  уходит в мир иной
от болотной лихорадки.>>

   <<In July 1823 Byron in the ship "Hercules" had sailed
with his few friends in Kefalonia island in the Ionian
Sea. From Byron urged leaders of the Greek uprising in
the interest of the unity of the struggle against Turkish
despotism stop infighting. Byron supplied the Greek rebels
weapons, money, food, obtaining funds for this purpose
by means of the London Committee of the Greeks.

   Captured Greek port Missolongi became the center and seat
of the prince Mavrokordato, one of the main leaders of
the Greek. At the invitation of the latter, Byron went
to Missolonghi. On the way his ship was detained by the
 Turkish fleet, but was soon released.

   In Missolongi Byron detachment was organized in three
thousand men to capture the Turks occupied the city of
Lepanto. The head of the detachment was appointed Byron.
But he could not accept the fact of participation. Troop
suliotov recruited from the Albanian mountain
tribes, rebelled and demanded a salary increase.


  Mutiny has been eliminated, but the
trip to the Lepanto had to be postponed.

   Unhealthy area in Missolonghi, damp and marshy climate
detrimental impact on the health of Byron.

   April 19, 1824 the great poet died in Missolonghi from
severe attacks of marsh fever.>>

     Тайный советник Матвей Яковлевич Минчиаки
(1768-1852),  был родом из Италии,  занимал
ряд важных дипломатических постов, будучи
в разное время генеральным консулом в Морее,
Кании (на острове Крит), Ливорно, Бухаресте,
Константинополе, Молдавии и Валахии. После
отставки М.Я. Минчиаки проживал в Одессе.
