Personality is the key word

We judge each other by appearance, sexual orientation and gender. I wanna focus on the gender issue, in particular on men vs. women and men not seeing women as equals.
I hate when a guy tells me: ‘You are a woman, so you won’t be able to do that’ Every single time I wanna answer: ‘Who the f*** do you think you are? You are just a man, that’s all. I am a woman, so what? You can’t tell me what I can or can’t do, even I don’t know that, and believe me, buddy, I’ve been good friends with myself since I was born, I guess I know myself better than you do. So shut the hell up!’
We see each other as males and females, forgetting the main thing – we have PERSONALITY. However we judge basing on some sex stereotypes as women are weaker than men, men are less emotional; women become crazy bitches when they have periods…countless stereotypes. Nevertheless everything is relative, and it all depends on a person, her/his personality or some features, but not on the gender. We are subject to generalize everything. So if you tell someone a story and this persons laughs, that’s doesn’t guarantee that the other person would laugh.
Even so women are not the exception in the generalizing stuff. How many times have you heard a girl saying ‘All men are bastards!’? As for me, a lot of times. And this taken-for-example girl says it not because she really thinks so, but because she had some problems with men, like ugly relationship, dad issues and so on. But this girl couldn’t have dated all men on our planet, so she doesn’t know all of them. Anyway she generalizes.
And it’s easier for us, I mean people in general, to generalize, as in this example with that girl. It’s easier to say that every guy is bad, it’s harder to accept the fact, that there are some good guys. But we don’t believe in that. We are non-believers.
Getting back to the men not seeing women as equals, I wanna say that it’s a problem. Most men see women as a supplement to them, like they are one group and women are the subgroup. That’s not the right vision. We are in the same group – humans. We are in this group together. We are equal. Yes, we differ but only in appearance, bodies and the cast of mind. But we don’t differ in our possibilities and future prospects. The main problem is that men are more likely to achieve something, just because they are males. Moreover in some countries it’s almost impossible for a woman to make a career, because she doesn’t have rights. It’s like they have no air. How is a person supposed to breathe with no air?! Therefore women are struggling for these rights, and men can’t get it ‘cause they think that everything is fine and a woman’s place in the world has already been determined by THEM. The women had no choice, no freedom of voice. They were made to shut up with a man’s hand closing a woman’s mouth. But now this ‘hand’ is gone, women are fighting to gain what they truly deserve.
Men, believe me, the fight will never be over till you admit that women and men are equal. Now men must face this ‘hand’ and it would be great if they had no ‘air’ for a change.
