In August 1980 Val Belin received an invitation to the philharmonic group from Zigmar Liepins. Inviting the strong soloist-instrumentalist Zigmar strengthened the group. Knowing Val as a composer and arranger Zigmar offered several of his claviers for future songs. The USSR well-known label Melody biggest record company, recorded the first EP of the MoDo group. The songs were performed by leading vocalists of Latvia of that period - Mirdza Zivere and Imants Vanzovichs.
In early 1981, there was a change of members of the ensemble "Modo" to a new and stronger list of participants. The bass player was replaced (Evgeny Shchapov replaced Michel Litvinov) and the drummer (Talis Grzybovsky replaced Valery Ivanov),
