I wore a pair of wings before

I wore a pair of wings before
They were immensely heavy.
And then you said: being ashore
Wing wearer will be weary.

And silly me, who trusted you
Agreed to get unraveled.
I put my wings away from dew-
Deep down into the gravel.

When you left me and time had come
To keep up with my journey,
My mighty wings became a pun –
Confused, enraged and burning.

No calming down my poor wings,
No putting down the fire.
I had to wear them “as it is”
And life in them inspire.

We walk together from now on,
No separating ever.
We sing, we cry, we laugh, we learn
Through all of our endeavors.

It’s time to learn to fly anew,
It’s time to stand my ground.
My smile is still a bit askew
But love inside I found.
