Not a bad day
Nothing bit. To tell you the truth, at this time of day nothing ever bites. Instead of a fishing rod maybe it would be better to read a book, but he knew, his eyes always get tired from the letters. It was easier to just stare at the ocean even though he knew nothing interesting would happen.
Somebody’s children scurried about with wild cries while the young mothers shouted hysterically. Groups of bikini clad girls giggled together, but between them existed a usual, almost a tranquil silence.
Everything seemed to have no special significance.
The sun was warm.
He felt tired.
- So, how often do you sit here? - darling eyes gazed at him with disapproval.
- Not often, - he lied.
- You have nothing else to do?
- I have lots, - he lied again.
- I see.. and where are our children?
- Busy.
- Hey, look, somethings biting! It's biting!!
He tried to reel it in, but it was too late. The fish swam off!.
Well, He didn't like fish anyway…
Again she stared out into the expanse of the ocean.
He gathered his chair and fishing rod, and, after nodding goodbye, he leaved this spot near the beach.
- Not a bad day, - he thought as he neared the exit, - not bad at all!
