1.The fairytales.

In a small town, in the street, where a shallow river flows, there lives a girl, her name is Susanna. Her parents' house is small and the most pleasant thing in it is a stove, where fire burns every day. Besides parents, Susanna has a sister Martha, and also 2 cats: Murka and Chernyshka. And there would be nothing unusual about it, if there were not the fairytales Sue has. And she will share them with you with pleasure.


When the girl was just a baby and slept in her tiny children's bed in the afternoon, once they heard a knock at the door.

- Who's there? - asked Mom quietly.

- That's we, Ayushka and Ricik, - answered children's voices behind the door. - May we play with Susanna?

- She's sleeping, - said Mom, having come out.

- And may we at least look at her?

- Yes, sure, come in.

Bear Ayushka and Raccoon Ricik came in the room on tiptoe and quietly approached to the sleeping girl's bed.

- How pretty she is, - said Bear.

-Yes, - answered Raccoon. She looks like a curly fair-haired angel.

Then they quietly went out, and Sue's mom treated them to home-made honey-cakes.

-Your daughter has probably forgotten about us, she stopped coming to our Magic Forest...

- Oh, come on, of course, not. She loves all of you, never forgets about you and will surely visit you.


When Susanna got up, her Mom told her about their guests. Little girl's eyes shone like two bright suns, the colour of chocolate.

- From my fairytale? - clarified Sue.

- Yes.




2. Where are the toys from?


Once in a firm which produced toys, appeared a new manager. He gathered everybody and made a speech.

- My dear, making toys, we should remember of an educational meaning. I suggest that since now we should produce "family toys". If we make dolls, then it's necessary to make a doll-Mom, doll-Dad and dolls-children in a set. The employees agreed. And "family toys" start to appear on the counters of every store. But probably the society wasn't ready for that and the toys were hardly ever sold. Then the firm had to stop the line and the most beautiful family, the family of blue rabbits contained only of a Mom-rabbit.

So, thanks for the manager, mister Giz Gumer, there were as follows toys on the counter of a store:

1.Dad Bear, Mom Bear and their son Ayushka - brown teddy bears;

2. Dad Fox, Mom Fox and their daughter Tyulkey - bright orange, cotton;

3. Dad Hedgehog, Mom Hedgehog and their son Ricik - grey, made of satin;

4. Black Dad Raven, Mom Raven, two little Ravens and a  white egg in their nest;

5. An old Forester alone, his family - trees and bushes, and an ant-heap with a snake in addition to a wooden house;

6. A big beautiful mild Indigo Hare made of silk velvet.

At first a seller tried to persuade people to buy the toys but finally he calmed down. Only one tourist bought, as a souvenir, a nest with an egg. The rest of the toys stayed on their places.

One day a serious mister came to the store. Having introduced himself, he said to the shop's owner that he raises toys, clothes, books to send it to children all over the world so that to help them and make them happy. The owner packed all the toys in a sack and gave them gladly. He thought that children while playing, make up families of absolutely different toys. And, he thought, it's sad to look at the goods which is not being sold. And, he thought, he would feel happy if he made a gift to somebody.

The story had a happy end. When a father of a poor family came to the organization of help, he was asked, what did his children need: clothes or toys.

-  I need toys for my children, - he said.

- I would advise you to take the sack with toys, maybe that box,  too.

- Thank you, that's enough, - said the father and took the sack with "family toys". So, that's how Susanna began to have the best toys in the world. She settled them in the Magic Forest, not far from her town.





3. Occupations.

When Susanna settled her new toys in the Magic Forest, they all decided to build houses. Then they decided to name their forest 'Kingdom of Wonders' and chose Blue Beautiful Rabbit a queen. So, that's what they built in the magic land: Bears' house, Foxes' house, Raccoons' house and Hedgehogs' house. Forester already had a house in set. And a beautiful palace was built for the Queen.

And then all our characters found something to do. Dad Bear started working as a manager of forestry, Mom Bear decided to be a housewife.

Father Fox got a job as a banker, Mom Fox opened a tailor's workshop. Raccoons family took up farming. Ravens opened a post office and their children helped the farmers. Hedgehogs family was engaged in jewelry. The Forester became a minister to the Queen. And the Queen was just a queen who had lots of things to do.





4. Ayushka

Ayushka, a litttle bear woke up early in the morning, ran to wash up and have a breakfast.

- Mom! - he called, when he had almost finished eating. - Tell me something about Susanna.

- What can I tell? - asked Mother Bear. - I have told you everything about her.

- Well, tell me what she has.

- She has paints, brushes and albums, she paints.

- What are paints?

- They are colourful pastes which are diluted with water. People make paintings with such paints and brushes.

- What is a painting?

- Wait a second, I will show you.

Mother Bear brought a book and showed her son, what paintings were like and what instruments they are made with.

- I want to paint too, - said Little Bear.

- No, my honey, we, bears, don't paint.

- But I'm a fairy bear, I may manage to do this.

- Ok, I will give you money for paints but you should go shopping with little Fox, because I don't have time, I have a dish being cooked on my cooker.

Little Bear ran so fast as he could to the house of Little Fox. It should be mentioned that they were friends and always played together. He was running to her house, it was dark in the street and a window near a door was open.

- Tyulkey! - called he.

- What? - ran out Little Fox.

- Do you have paints?

- Yes, I do. Why do you ask? Do you need a pair pants?

- Not pants, paints!

- And what is it?

- It is something to make paintings, like in books.

- Oh, I got it, I saw such books. No, I don't have paints.

- Let's go buy them and paint.

- Ok, I just need to ask my mom for permission.

And they ran to the town for paints. That was not very far. And neither of them certainly didn't notice that hiding behind the trees, Mother Fox is following them. Because moms always worry and care about their children.

When they came to the store, they began to look at the showcases, what to choose. Ayushka said to the seller:

- Give me, please, those round paints.

The seller took money and gave the change and the paints. Then Tyulkey said:

- Ayu, and how many brushes are there in the paints?

- One, - said Ayushka.

- And there are two of us.

- Ohh, yes, I was about to forget,  thank you for reminding!

The Little Bear bought one more brush and they ran home. At home they poured some water in the glasses, sat down on the chairs, took the brushes in their hands, dunked them into the water, looked at the opened paints...looked at each other...

- Tyulkey! Album we've forgotten!

And they ran to the store again. Having entered the mall, Little Bear, out of breath, said:

- A-a-lbum!

- You did forget album, honey, here you are. - The seller smiled.

Then the friends were sitting at Bears' house and painting. First they painted mushrooms and flowers, then all their friends. They ran out of sheets in album. Their paintings hung on the walls. Exhausted children said goodbye to each other and Little Fox came home to go to bed. Father Bear came home and was very surprised at the paintings.

- They can be taken in a store for selling, - he said.

- It would be great! - said Mom.

In a week, Father Bear brought money for sold paintings and gave it to the children. And then!!! Ayushka and Tyulkey bought 4 boxes of painting, 6 albums and could paint as much as they want.





5.Umbrellas.

One morning Ayushka woke up, and there were dark clouds in the sky, it was raining.

- Well, - he said to his mom, - now I can't go out, the weather is wet.

- That's alright, - said his mom, - I have a fairy thing against the rain, you can go out with it.

Mom looked at the upper shelf and then at the big wardrobe. Little Bear asked:

- Mom, are you playing hide-and-sick with me? - because Mother Bear was almost invisible behind the wardrobe's door.

- No, - she said.

And she showed a long stick, crooked from one edge and acute from another. She straightened, said: 'One, two, three!' Pressed the button, a click was heard and a dome appeared above her head!

- What's that?!

- That's an umbrella - a helpful thing in rainy weather. You can walk under it and stay dry. This way you can open and close it.

- May I show it to Tyulkey?

- Yes, you may. Go play!

And Ayushka ran to Tyulkey.

- What's that? - wondered Little Fox, - you have a roof above your head.

- It's called 'umbrella', for rainy weather.

- I want such umbrella too. I will ask my dad to buy it.

She went and asked her dad about it.

- Ok, - he said, - and what umbrella would you like?

- Well, I'm bright orange, so bright green would match me.

- Let's go to the market and take it.

Tyulkey came back with a gorgeous bright green umbrella with light green shades, framed with laces on the edge.

She and Ayushka ran in the rain and laughed.

Soon Hedgehog Angic and Raccoon Ricik joined them. And even when the rain stopped and the sun smiled, they still continued to run with the umbrellas till the very evening. Flying by Raven was extremely surprised: 'What rounds are moving on the meadow?' When he descended to the grass, he understood what was the matter.

In Ryne evening, saying goodbye, Little Fox said to Ayushka:

- Ayu, you are brown, I think you need to buy a lemon umbrella, and this one will be your mother's.

-Ok, - he said.

- What option of umbrellas was there in the market today! There were umbrellas of all colours, striped, polka dot, flowery, different sizes from huge umbrellas for elephants to tiny ones for ants.

- Interesting!





6. Tyulkey's birthday

When Little Fox had a birthday, her Mom cooked a lot of tasty dishes. The table was laid beautifully. Tyulkey was in a new sewn dress.

Ayushka and Ricik gifted her long beads and a bouquet of flowers. Hedgehog Angic gave her a pair of beautiful earrings and a net of apples. Two Little Ravens presented her bracelets.

It was very fun at the celebration. And the most exciting was eating a three-floor cake. Everybody played and danced a lot, and after the celebration Mom Fox gave everyone a sweet treat to take home.

Next day children played hide-and-sick and catch-up at the meadow, they were so involved, laughed and ran, that only at a lunchtime noticed Tyulkey had lost one earring and the beads. Everyone started looking for them but it was very hard to find, the grass was very high. In an hour of search Little Hedgehog saw the earring hanging on a bush and gave it to Tyulkey. And the beads were not found still. Suddenly a smiling Forester made his appearance.

- Little Fox! - he called.

- Good afternoon! - greeted children in chorus.

- Good afternoon! - answered Forester. - I was walking through my forest and checking if everything is alright. And see in the grass a strange snake. What a guest, I've never seen it in the forest. And this turned out to be this! He opened his big palm, showing the hickey.

- Beads! - shouted children.

- Well, Little Fox, that's probably your lost.

Little Fox ran to Forester.

- Thank you! - she said.

He gave the beads to Tyulkey and walked on. And children continued to play.

Since then Tyulkey hasn't worn jewellery when she goes to play. She kept them at home in her jewellery box and only on holidays could we see she was wearing her friends gifts. 





7. The market

Raccoon Ricik was a friend of Ayushka. Once Little Bear was going to sell honey at the market. His parents could gather honey of wild bees, it was Ayushka's mother hobby. Ayu helped his parents and sometimes went to the market to sell the honey. Earned money he brought to his Mother or bought something she asked for.

In the morning Raccoon Ricik came to Ayu.

- Hi!

- Hi!

- Where are you going to?

- To the market.

- May I go with you?

- Yes, you may.

They walked happily and when they came to the market, Little Bear stood up at the counter and put some pots with honey before him.

- Honey! - he shouted. - Buy honey, honey of wild bees! Healing, useful, tasty!

One old lady came to the counter, took one pot with honey and asked:

- Tasty, you say? - she was looking at Little Raccoon.

- And fish is tastier! - blurted out he.

The woman thought for a while and walked on.

- You know, Ricik, - said Little Bear, - maybe you'd better go look through the market, what is sold here, just don't get lost.

He didn't say that, praising fish, Little Raccoon kept them from selling all the honey quickly. Ricik was younger than Ayushka and didn't understand lots of things. The Little Raccoon ran, he was very curious and in half an hour he came back with 2 fish in his teeth. Ayu had just sold all honey by that time. And they came home.

- Where did you take the fish? - asked Little Bear on their return trip.

- Oh, that's a whole story. I came to a counter with fish and sat opposite one of sellers. And I gaze and gaze at him. Right at him. He did not resist and said:

- A kitten, what an interesting breed. Will you come to live with me?

And I nodded.

He was extremely surprised that I nodded, he said I was probably from circus, smart and trained. He gave me 2 fish. I took them. Here, help yourself.

- No, thank you. I'm sure if you had said something to him, he would have fallen under the counter for surprise.

- Yeah...





8. Hearts.

Susanna's elder sister Marta went to school in the morning, their Mom and Dad often went to work, the little girl was left alone in the house. She tried to find something interesting to do: she painted, watered flowers, looked at books with paintings, tried to write letters, fed cats. The little girl loved all the world around her very much: and relatives, and nature, and other people, and the house, - everything! She often said to her mother:

- Mommy, I love you more than a thousand worlds. - Or - Mommy, I love you more than the whole universe.

And mother told her she loved her the same much too.

- Thank you so-o-o much, - said the girl.

When she was alone in the house, she painted hearts as signs of her love and gifted them to her relatives when they returned home.

- Your paintings, - her mother said, - are getting more and more pretty, soon I will have the biggest collection of hearts. There is no another mom, who gets so many hearts from her children as I do. I'm so happy!

We can be happy only when we make somebody happy.

- We can organise an exhibition of your works and call it 'an exhibition of painted hearts'.





9. Visiting Susanna.

Tyulkey woke up early in the morning, washed her face, dressed, had breakfast. Then she came to her mom. Mother Fox drew something in an album, probably a sketch on a new dress.

- Mommy, - asks the daughter.

- What, Tyulkey?

- May we go to the town today?

- Who - we?

- I, Ayu, Ricik and Angic.

- Where are you going to go to?

- To Susanna.

- Did she invite you?

- Yes, she's bored, she wants to play with us.

- Ok, you may go.

But Ricik and Angic were busy, they helped to their parents and couldn't come. So Tyulkey came with Ayushka. Susanna and her mother gladly welcomed the guests. They treated the children with some delicious meal. Then 3 children joyfully played. They jumped on an old bed in the yard, competed who jumped higher! Ran around the house, competing who faster! Pretended to be little engines! Watched leaves and wooden chips flowing in the river. They had dinner and played again. Sue's mother gave them many fruits: apples, oranges, bananas, pears, kiwi fruits. Children ate as much as they wanted to. By the evening they had been so tired that lay on the bed to have a rest.

- No, we will not go home, - said Little Bear and Fox, - it's so pleasant here.

- Stay here, - said Sue, - we played so amazingly, I have never had such a great time before, you made this day the happiest day in my life. We will live together and play so every day.

But some minutes later Father Bear and Father Fox came for their children.

- No, we will not go home! - cried the children.

Fathers went out and called Mothers. And after few minutes they came in again.

-  You know, Ayushka, - said Father Bear, - you can not go home but then you will not be able to see a new rocking horse and a toy car.

- What!? - surprised Ayushka. - Sue, I will come to you tomorrow or other days, now, I'm sorry, I must go see new toys. Thank you, and come to visit us too.

And he ran for his father.

- Well, - said Father Fox, - my daughter, mom bought you a new doll and a bow.

- How!? - amazed Tyulkey. - Sue, I will ran home, I need to see that. I will show you too, and come to visit us too.

She gave a hug to Susanna and ran for her father. On their way home children fell asleep in their dads' car. When they came home, their dads carried them home and put on the beds already sleeping.

And next morning Ayushka saw a rocking horse and a toy car. And there were a new big doll with a wide bow on the corner of Tyulkey's bed. Because their parents had fastly bought the toys, children must not be deceived.




10. The queen Airen

The Queen cared about her little Kingdom. Minister-Forester told her all the news of the Magic Forest. The news was always only good and the Queen was glad about it.

Airen was good-looking and very kind. She was happy that she knew every adult and every child and could communicate with them in the Kingdom of Wonders. She organized

4 celebrations in a year for her nationals, in the summer, in the autumn, in the winter and in the spring. On the days of celebration the Forest is well decorated, thanks to everyone's diligence and creativity. Every house is framed with lighting lanterns and garlands. The palace, for everyone's surprise, shine like a diamond. Every bush and tree is decorated. On holidays all the Kingdom sing and dance, play different games and certainly get gifts.

All this is great but today Airen is sad, we don't know why. She decided to go to the town to take lessons of playing the violin. She likes that musical instrument.







11. A new guest.

One lovely morning, when the sun only started to lighten the tops of high trees, a lorry was driving in the road. The driver was elated, he smiled, he was coming to another town. There was furniture, dishes, clothes, toys and many other things in the car body of his lorry. He transported something every day, it was his work. Today he transported things of a good family, they were moving to another flat in another town. The family consisted of a father, a mother and 2 sons, they were driving in front of the lorry.

The road was not perfectly flat and the lorry was driving, shaking. A soft toy, not very new, fell out of it and rolled to the edge of the road, it was left right there. It was a Little Lion, the younger brother used to play with it when he was a baby. He got the toy after his elder brother. Nobody noticed that the Little Lion fell down and was lost. He would lie for a long time here but, fortunately for him (or unfortunately) a mister was walking his dog just at the moment. The dog 

bit the Lion and started to run on the meadow. The Lion was not glad about such handling at all, he got angry with the dog. The master called his dog, it dropped the Lion in a bad condition and ran away. 

It was getting dark and quiet. Dark clouds appeared in the sky. It began to rain. Wet, exhausted, the Lion felt some force pulled him to go forward. So, some time passed and he found himself at the edge of Magic Forest, then he went on and saw our characters' houses. The sun was rising. The Little Lion discovered he could speak. He roared loudly and frightened everyone. The harmony ofMagic Forest was broken, everybody was embarrassed, and in addition the Lion looked scary. His eyes were angry and he had a feeling unknown for him before, he was starving.

The Queen helped everybody. That was not a secret for her how to heal any disease. She came closer to the Little Lion, caressed him, took him to the palace and fed him. Then she washed him, sewed up all torn places. She played him the violin and then he went to bed. Having woken up, the Little Lion realised he was kind, cute, loyal and not absolutely dangerous. This became clear to everyone when they saw what nice and gentle he was. Everyone made friends with him, he stayed at the palace and was happy.






12. 2 mothers.

In Hedgehogs' family, where our Little Hedgehog Angic was the elder brother, there also were sisters Lilia and Elsa, and younger brothers Alex and Andre. Everybody worked hard in the family, making beautiful jewellery. Also they made nice souvenirs and different notions. Many one wanted to buy their products. That day Mom Hedgehog was going to go to the town and sell the works for a jewellery store. Angic asked her:

- Mommy, could you, please, come to Sue when you will walk by their house and invite her to play with us?

- Yes, sure, I will do it with pleasure, - said Mom.

Sue's mother met Mother Hedgehog very neighborly. They were drinking tea and talked about a number of things: about weather, vegetables in the garden, children...

When the guest left, Sue's mother said to her daughter, that it would be a celebration in the Magic Forest soon. They needed to get ready for it and come. They had a wonderful surprise for everybody.

- Yes, - answered her daughter. - I just would like to have a new pair of shoes for the event.

- Sure, my dear. Now I will be busy with the surprise, which I will not tell about to anyone. And Mother sat at the writing table, and Sue didn't interrupt her. She went to bathe her doll, feed her and sing her a lullaby so that it could fall asleep.





13. In the Kingdom.

In the Magic Forest everybody felt elated, because they were preparing for the celebration, to be precise, for a carnival. In the little Kingdom of Wonders they thought: in the wintertime we have a very colourful New Year's holiday with fireworks display and tinsel. And in summertime we'd like to have something special too. And they decided to organise a Flower Carnival.

Forester was in charge of the decoration of the Forest and entertaining program. His Snake helped him. Nobody could hang shining garlands on the bushes and trees better than her. Also 2 ravens helped the minister, they liked doing serious things. Their work looked like a game, so gracefully and easily they fulfilled it. They took lamps in their beaks and hung them on the branches of trees.

Not only did the queen arrange gifts for everybody but also she decided to invite musicians, some elected people who was able to keep secrets.

Tyulkey's mother sewed fancy dresses. Everybody should come in costumes devoted to the flowery theme. Hedgehogs made fascinating jewellery and souvenirs on the Queen's request. Every family had her own secrets on the forthcoming event. Raccoons harvested for the celebration dinner as usual. Sue's family was invited to the party too. So, everybody lived anticipating the carnival, hustle and bustle got them elated.







14. Costumes on the carnival.

It is not said in vain that a picture is worth a thousand words. But we will try to describe you how passed the carnival in the Kingdom of Wonders.

First we will have a look at the forest: a number of garlands, diverse colours and shades, shapes and plexus were visible on the trees, houses and bushes, they made an impression of carnival jungles. Forester, ravens and the Snake had done a great job. There were also lamps with sparkling fire on the trees and houses.

Especially was it the palace which was decorated luxuriously. Garlands on the building reminded gems. And between the garlands - different flowers from the roof to the ground. It seemed from far away that the palacewas a huge flowerbed, glittering with diamonds of dew. In front of the building - a lawn. In the middle of lawn - a laid table with all manner of dishes. To the right from the throne, put on the big terrace, - a place for musicians. To the left from the throne - a table with gifts, prizes and surprises. Near it sat Little Lion in a costume of a chamomile flowerbed. He was all in chamomiles and looked extremely good!

The carnival started at 11 o'clock in the morning and usually lasted till 11 pm. 12 hours of joy, happiness, games and other unforgettable ingredients of any carnival. This time there would be live music - paradisaic delight for experts. All the ensemble was wearing in costumes of flowers. From toes to neck the costumes were sewn from green satin with decoration of leaves, from the neck - lush buds, so that their faces are located in the middle of a flower.

The emcee was Forester, he was already wearing a costume of a black tulip, very creative style with a bowtie.

Snake in a costume of dandelion was sitting next to Little Lion and waiting for the forthcoming events. And Little Lion having sleepy closed his eyes, was lying, stretching his paws forward, he looked really royal. Now let us look at each family, what did they come up with?

Hedgehogs dressed like bushes of strawberry, there were fruitage, flowers and leaves of strawberry on their needles. They looked very appetizing, all seven bushes: mom, dad and 5 children.

Raccoons were wearing different costumes. Father Raccoon was a Blue iris, Mother Raccoon was a Golden ball, and their son had a costume of white Lily.

Ravens decorated themselves with necklaces from pansies and golden bracelets.

Father Bear just attached a burgundy red rose to his suit. Ayushka was wearing a dark green suit with a yellow rose on it. And Mother Bear was all in wildflowers. On her hat and on her fancy dress, on her shoes and her purse - there were wildflowers everywhere.


The night before the carnival Ayu woke up several times, afraid to be late for it. He jumped off his bed and it seemed to him it was already morning:

- Mommy, where are my pants?

- Oh, go to bed!

- Mommy, aren't we late?

- No. Go to bed, I will wake you up when it's the time to go.


From far away a costume of Father Fox could be unnoticed because it was the same colour as Father Fox himself. It was orange, decorated with orange marigolds. Tyulkey had a white rose in her haircut and on her pale green - 75 rose in addition. Mother Fox was wearing a slinky dress strict style, and a cape of ribbons beautifully fluttered. On her had was also a hat with flowers and ribbons.

The Queen was in a dress of cornflowers, on a long skirt of the dress were hundreds of flowers. On her head was a crown, she had golden shoes and a bracelet on her hand.

And Sue with her family hurried to the event. She was a Peony, new white shoes shone on her feet. Her sister Marta was a Dahlia. Her mother was dressed like a bright Aster. And her father didn't want to be a flower at all, but finally he was persuaded to attach a blue carnation to his suit.

A day before the carnival Sue's Mother got a package from a toys manufacture.





15. The beginning of the carnival.

So, the celebration began at the appointed time.  All gathered near the palace and gazed at each other's costumes, there was a prize for the best costume.

- Dear guests and dwellers of the Kingdom of Wonders! Welcome to our opening of the summer Flower Carnival! - began the emcee Forester.

Everybody applauded. Sounds of music spread everywhere. Everybody went to dance. In movement the costumes looked even more interesting. Then they reeled, played 'stream', declaimed poems, sang songs. All were elated, the music didn't stop. Children got presents for their participation in competitions.

When the dinnertime approached, everybody was invited to the table, there were many delicious and unusual dishes. The fruits, planted by farmers Raccoons, were amazing. There also were a big number of cakes, eastern sweets and different beverages. Musicians were treated and thanked for the pleasant music.

After the dinner everybody was having a rest on the meadow near a fountain, sitting on the benches and gazing at irrepressible children continuing frolic, run and play. Little Lion carried children on his back in turn and they were very excited and happy about it.

Adults were quietly talking, telling funny stories. Especially did they laugh at previous funny surprises. Father Bear told he had got a set of singing dolls as a present. When he brought the souvenir home, put it on a shelf and went to bed, he suddenly heard music. The peculiarity of the souvenir was that dolls sang at home. The song they sang was pleasant to hear but Father Bear wanted to sleep. He twisted the souvenir in his hands, trying to find a button to turn it off, but couldn't find it. He had to listen to 2 songs before he made up with an idea to line them up. Only then did they stop singing. It appeared that the souvenir was also an alarm clock. The time could be fixed, and the alarm clock started to ring at that time. And only when the dolls were standing in a line, did the sounds disappear. All laughed at the story.

The Queen reminded what pleasant gift-surprise she got. She told about a flower made of semiprecious stones in an elegant pot made of jasper. Such a beautiful orange flower - just a work of art. Having woken up in the morning, she looked at the flower again and took it in the hands to see more clearly. Suddenly its petals began to open and she saw, like in a fairytale, a little plump chipmunk. But these was not all miracles, in addition the chipmunk raised his paws and gave her a bracelet and a ring, so cute! She showed, the jewellery were on her hand. Everybody smiled about the story.

Most of the funny tricks were with food. Farmers Raccoons could plant fruits and vegetables with different tastes. They could get tomatoes with the taste of oranges, and strawberry could taste like bananas, lemon - like strawberry, cucumbers could taste like apples or like something else or they could have just a taste of cucumbers. Nobody knew the secrets of the family. When they were asked how they planted such hickeys, they answered they didn't know it either. They told: 'We are amazed ourselves how can it be'.

It became a tradition to have a competition-game with these food. A player was given a fruit or a vegetable and asked: 'Guess, what taste?' If he guessed, he got a prize but hardly ever somebody really guessed. In addition sometimes he was given an ordinary food.

Hedgehogs were special too. They made 'edible' fruits and vegetables. Their souvenirs didn't differ from the real food. A game 'what fruit is real' caused a lot of laughter, not everyone could win.


Children after riding Little Lion went to the royal hall where Snake read them new fairytales aloud. There also was an exhibition of children's art. And beds, where they lay to have an afternoon rest. Even on holidays schedule should not be broken.

So, adults were having a nice conversation while children were sleeping. The silence was everywhere, only quiet sounds of nature could be heard: whisper of leaves, murmur of creek, game of sun lights and clouds in the sky - it's necessary to have a sensitive soul to hear the orchestra. Let's have a rest too, because after a while the extension of the carnival is waiting for us.





16. The extension of the carnival.

After the rest the celebration was continued with light music and dances. Forester announced the competition of best costume. Among children the first prize was given to Tyulkey, and the audience favourite prize was divided between Little Lion and Snake. They all got huge cakes.

Among adults, after a long discussion, jury gave preference to Mother Bear, and audience favourite prize - to the Hedgehogs. They got cakes too. Everybody also got nice memorable souvenirs because all the participants of the competition looked stunning.

Then games started: 'Tag-of-war', where the rope was made of lianas, 'Run in a sack', 'Catch up with a sunbeam' and others. Then they were sitting and laughing at the participants of competitions on guessing the tastes and smells.

And soon came the time to exchange surprises. Any participant could make a speech. The first was a conductor, he said:

- I swear, that nobody of us, musicians will ever tell about your great celebration. Thank you for the honour to be here. We give your Kingdom a souvenir - a music box. The Queen took the gift, and when she was shown how it worked, she pressed a button, the cover opened, a little bird flew out of the box. It flew across the field, sat on a branch and sang the nightingale's song. Everybody froze in amazement. When the bird stopped singing, it came back to the music box and the cover closed.

- Thank you from all of us, the song will make us happy for all year, especially in the winter in frosts and blizzards, - said the Queen.

- Let me, -  continued the musician, - give your and our Queen this violin.

The Queen took the instrument, not believing her eyes.

- Thank you, - she said, - and went on, - we also swear that we will never invite other musicians on our future celebrations and we beg your collective not to refuse from our invitations, because we can't even imagine our holidays without your celestial music. Let us give you the gifts from all dwellers of our Kingdom.

She gave everyone in the ensemble a box with jewellery.


- I want to ask all of you, -  said Airen to the nationals, - are dwellers of my Kingdom happy enough?

- Yes, we are! Long live the Queen!

- Then let me express my sincere gratitude from all of us to the family of Sue and hand them unforgettable gifts.

- Thank you very much! - said Sue's Mother, - we are extremely happy.

Oh,  my Queen!!! - appeared a masterful, sure and strong voice.

Everybody turned, having winced of suddenness, and stood frozen in surprise, and the Queen too.

- How long I have been looking for you, I and my children almost lost a hope to find you.

That huge strong indigo Hare lead a white horse and next to him went 2 Little Hares - a girl and a boy. Everybody stepped aside and let them come.

The Queen hugged the children and cried for happiness, and indigo Hare hugged his Queen. All walked on air, they started to throw up their hats, shout 'Hooray!', dance and jump, laughing.

- This is my surprise, - said Sue's Mom. - If you please, we will coronate the King, my husband made a crown.

Indigo Hare knelt and Sue's Father put the crown on his head. And everybody shouted:

- Long live the King!

The celebration continued. In the evening everyone got a present:

Forester - a wristwatch, the Hedgehogs - 7 warm camel blankets,  Raccoons - a big set of dishes, Little Lion - a new carpet, Snake - a new little house, Ravens - 4 new nets, Bears - a big book 'Recipes of delicacies', Foxes - a sewing machine, and the family of Queen got a beautiful painting.

At the end of the celebration everybody started to say goodbye and went home. Some of the children Little Lion picked up home.

In everybody's soul remained some warm and pleasant memories of the Flower carnival in the Magic Forest.
