I will think in English. Today I’ve read more than 40 pages, but it’s still hard for me to begin a daily note. Bateson’s language is very difficult and I’m able to understand only 60% of the text. Sometimes it seems that everything I’m reading is understandable but then I get into such places in which I can’t see anything familiar. In these cases I just move through the text without worrying about some blanks in my comprehension. I said to myself that in any case it’s useful, insofar as I train my brain working with words and meanings which I already familiar with. I don’t try to figure out everything, I just learn to read. I see lots of words in different contents and it helps me to make new connections between these words in my own English thinking. Through this way I develop my language. It allows me to feel the difference between English and Russian. I noticed that I began to speak Russian much easier after I had dedicated in this hard linguistic work. By the “hard linguistic work”, above all, I mean my concentration on the work and complete focusing without any rest. Of course, frankly speaking, it’s not “hard” and it’s not “work”. It’s just a game. It’s the game in which I create rules and use everything to unfold my hidden potential.
