I’ve finished reading “Angels Fear.” It seems Bateson writes about the difference between the real world and the so-called world of languages. He develops Kant’s argument about “thing in itself” and uses notions “Creatura” and “Pleroma” to distinguish these two worlds. When I was reading I understood only 40-60%, but in some places, especially in dialogues between B. and his daughter, I understood almost everything. Of course, I can’t retell clearly the content of the book and even basic points described there, but for the beginning it was enough just to read it. It’s the third English book which I’ve already read, and I’m not going to stop.
I also invest a lot of time in translating today. I was translating Leo’s video several hours and accomplished 20/34 minutes. I wrote down many new words and figured out the difference between success and happiness much deeper. I like working with this topic because it truly clarify my thoughts.
It’s very funny of Leo to talk about his resistance to the illusion of success and simultaneously to be involved in this process of making new videos and increasing his publicity. However, sometimes, I’m ready to admit that he recognizes some stuff deeper than I do. I think we are going with the same speed, or, using more appropriate expression, standing on the same point.
