Engvid. Daniel Bonevac “Dostoevsky and Nietzsche” (lecture).
Meeting with X. – 120.
I will think in English. Now I’m going to use this page for some thoughts I had during the day. I wrote about the difference between realism and idealism as follows. You might think that there is the world around you, and if you want to make it better you are doing something with the world. You also might think that there is the real world in your brain and everything you see, touch, feel etc is just a reflection in your brain. In this case if you want to make the world better you are developing your brain.
I recalled a quote by Khalil Gibran to add to these thoughts. In English it looks the same as in Russian translation, “They say to me in their awakening, ‘you and the world you live in are but a grain of sand upon the infinite shore of an infinite sea.’ And in my dream I say to them, ‘I’m the infinite sea, and all worlds are but grains of sand upon my shore.’”
At the evening I studied English with X. at home. I spoke more than it was necessary and even showed him the videos I’ve made. It was silly. I couldn’t control myself as well as I want and as a result I got rude misunderstanding. There is a funny effect: The more I talk the less people understand me, and it forces me to talk more and more which produces an illusion of mutual understanding.
