Young Traveller s Diary. Part 1

The city enchanted her in a very special way. On her way here all the thoughts were very practical: see all the important things, attend your classes, be perfect in your group, meet all the people you know there.

But everything turned upside down. After check marking all the points in her list she started to notice all the non-practical things here. How each morning old lady was sitting with her golden retriever watching the Seine near Notre Dame and feeding pigeons, the smell of freshly baked baguettes and croissants when passing by boulangeries, the old man reading morning newspaper and drinking espresso everyday in the same very cafe, how waiters and maitre d’hotels were smiling at her and calling in to try their french/italian/greek/thai food. How people you meet for the first time in your life kiss you on both cheeks and smile so brightly as if you were the only one they wanted to meet for a long-long time.

Paris was not practical at all. Paris is about feelings, savors, emotions, tastes, touches, smiles and kisses. Here everything is so different but lives in some symbiosis with each other, adding charm and creating unique atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else.
