Mind Transformation 184
I was going to read a book about William Blake, but after several pages I decided to delay it for better times. Now it’s really an inconvenient reading for me. I took another book, which is “Operant Conditioning: an Experimental Analysis of Behavior” by Derek Blackman. This is a book about psychology. I’ve already read 40 pages, and I’m sure I will read not only this book but also B.F. Skinner’s book related to “operant conditioning” as well.
Reading about “superstitions” and “reinforcement,” I found lots of analogies with my own experience, which helped me to understand more deeply my behavior: Why am I doing this? What causes me to do that? Are there some subtle motives or everything could be explained by external circumstances?
After all, this book has to help me with my teaching practice, especially with that that refers to self-teaching. Now I should eliminate stupid actions which I do while using the internet. I mean: looking at views, paying attention to activity in my group, allowing myself to waste time on meaninglessly clicking buttons. I also need to improve my powerful rituals in order to make the process of learning as well as it may possibly be. I wouldn’t say that all of this is a serious challenge, but anyway, it’s something that must be improved in near future. I can manage my 16 daily hours very, very effectively, and it will be better if I read books which help me to do that rather than spend time learning some versificators, even though they might be exciting in their domain.
