Mind Transformation 186

11677.
I’ve added a new feature to my daily routine. After having breakfast, I made a plan for the rest of the day, writing it down on a paper. I want to rewrite it here:

15-17 reading
17-18 sport
18-20 reading
20-20:30 eating
20:30-21 speaking
21-23 the internet
23-23:30 running
23:30-0:00 writing
0:00-2 gymnastic + listening

Well, I’ve done everything according to the plan. Why didn’t I make such plans beforehand? Yeah, I remember that I already used a technique similar to this. It was my “morning programming technique.” I used a tape recorder and talked to myself what I want to do. Now I’ve a large number of those recordings, but it’s almost impossible to listen to all of them. However, if I write daily plans on paper it might be developed into a very nice ritual.
Ok, reading. I want to write a little about “Operant Conditioning.” It’s very difficult to read, so I can figure out no more than 50%, but nonetheless I read 60 pages today. I’ve got the chief idea. Mostly the book describes experiments with animals; aiming to teach them by making special circumstances and using reinforcement, which helps them to choose the right behavior patterns. I feel myself as if I were a rat in a big cage called the Earth. Good food—including mental food—is my reinforcement, and it seems I’ve found the way to get it in a sufficient amount.
