Fire The Horse

It was hot.
Fire The Horse saw how the real fire came closer and closer. All meadow was burning. His rope was tied to the metal stake and didn't let him run away – escape from all heat that taken his air and had burned his eyes and nostrils. He jumped from side to side. The fire was extremely close and began to eat the rope that finally became weak. The horse felt freedom but the flame surrounded him and didn't leave him any open way. But he began to run away to his home through the fire.
All was ablaze: the big house and owner's car in the yard and wooden fence and fruit garden and his stable. He stopped at the swimming pool. Once, while he was a small colt, he had fallen down into the water and been scared. It was hard job to get out for him and for his owner that was teen boy Jack who couldn’t get his driver’s license four years yet. He gave for his colt this name because horse’s red mane. Jack found a piece of rope that tied with both ends to the lamppost near the pool. Fire The Horse got into the loop with his hoof.
But now the pool was only place without fire with its long poison tongues that ate everything in its way. Fire The Horse jumped into the water and found it nice and cold - very good for his overheated body.
He thought he just had to wait until the fire could be finished or just retreated but it was endless. The horse sank with his head down the water and sometimes lifted it for a gulp of air that was incredibly hot. However, he could drink the water of the pool that brought to his stomach little bit of fresh.
He didn't know how long it was. He raised his head and opened his eyes. There was no fire around and nothing that he had known all his horse's life - no home, no stable and no garden. All had become the black ash and gray smoke that closed all sky above him. Let's sit in the pool and wait for... He didn't know what he could expect from all that had happened.
The fresh breeze dispelled the hard smoke. Fire The Horse could breathe now and tried to get out of the pool. But his hoofs had slid back to water. He could wait only when somebody would help him.
There were unknown people that entered the place that just last morning was his yard. They found him in the pool. They said that he was the very smart horse if he escaped from fire to water.
But where was all his family - Jack and his parents? Where are all chickens and pigs? He didn't know. There was nothing around. All vanished.
And Fire The Horse felt real loneliness as never in his horse's life.
