Infinity

She craved to catch the tail of infinity.
She looked for clues around and above.
There tulips grew, sweet lilies and gardenias
In solemn glory next to her abode.

Where distant stars, self-reassured and twinkling,
Kept secrets hidden, warped, distorted, locked,
She aimed  to conquer outer space by speeding
Eternally through  Universal block.

Her time machine, without brakes or gadgets,
Took her away with no questions asked:
The goggle of galaxies, black halls like sticky magnets,
All passed… She’s here, next to her abode.

The moment, all it took, to spin around
And screech-bump back, all wonder left behind.
She noticed then that orchid’s getting brown,
Its bloom eternal is vanishing with pride.

She flew through outer space and now discovered
That she is hooked to her abode cover.
It was her star, her infinite desire —
To keep her orchid, to safeguard her fire.
