I ll Drive You One Day with Balloons
All beaten up, covered in dirt,
Embarrassed, forsaken, forgotten,
There’s no one to manage its plot.
Awaiting the tow truck it’s moaning
And sighing, and screeching in the wind.
Who knows right now what it’s wanting,
What visions it’s having and dreams.
It dreams of returning to highway
In shininess and jubilation,
Of new and responsible driver,
Right speed and great destination.
Then maybe one day with balloons
And ribbons it will bring wedded couple
From City Hall towards lagoon,
Where tables are ready to topple.
Right there, where ocean breeze
Keeps covering windshield with dew,
It’ll be quietly falling asleep
To waken at dawn with beep-beep.
The car on the side of the road,
Abandoned, and totaled for sure,
I’ll take you, I’ll fix you, I’ll own you.
I'll drive you one day with balloons!
