The Story about a rose

The Story about a rose

One of readers of cafe-library approached Gorky:

- I described one of episodes of today.

Gorky looked at the reader with interest.

- I went to the flower market and saw a girl. She had a sad face, - the reader began to read the text written on a sheet of paper. - The girl had a sad face. In my plans was to buy a bouquet of flowers. In the flower market I saw a bucket with beautiful roses. One of roses speaks to me: "Buy me and give to the girl, whom you saw a few minutes ago". I bought this rose and gave to the girl. Then I returned for the bouquet to the flower market. The third time I saw the girl when I went from the flower market with a bouquet of flowers. She was not sad, but - cheerful. She talked by phone. I heard her words: "Mom! The man presented me a rose!" And I went further - according to the plans.

The reader interrogatively looked at Gorky.

He was silent for a moment, then said:

- Flowers sing like violins, flutes and passionate cellos.

The reader thought that in the text there are not enough romanticism and passion.

- I thank, Alexei Maksimovich, - he said. - I will try to improve the records about the today.

The reader went to an exit from cafe-library.

- Name your essay "The story about a rose", - the reader heard Gorky's advice.

- Yes, thank you, - the reader answered. He went outside. He listened. Some sounds. Somewhere far a rose was singing.
