Is it time to come back to writing in English? 10 days of Russian and 10 days of English? Well, I probably need more time to focus on one language till I get bored with it. When I shifted to Russian I tried to eliminate this damn tinnitus in the first place, and it was quite successful. Writing in Russian doesn’t make me fell this irritating noise, but insofar as I need to improve my English more than Russian, I’ll write in English until it appears again. I can use this approach and alter my writing any time when there are some undesirable consequences.
Recently, I’ve established a new schedule, which is close to what I already had before. I begin my learning session from working with Murphy’s book, then I watch a lesson from Coursera, and only after that I work at my group in social networks and add some content there. I also watch small lectures about mathematical linguistics on the channel “Trev Tutor”, and it helps immeasurably in improving my knowledge in both math and linguistics. However, my thoughts still can’t be expressed with ease, and when I read books I feel frustrated comparing my poor language with what I see there. Although I have been writing every day for more than half a year, I’m still not fluent. I see how often I use the word “I”, how unsophisticated is my style, how difficult it is to convey my ideas into grammatically natural order, etc. But, of course, I’m not going to complain about this and quit. I know that everything will be okay. It took me many years before I started writing in Russian and developed an outstanding style. It seems to be even longer with English, but I have time. There is no point to rush anywhere.
