What’s about dream analysis? I guess I already mentioned that I’ve come back to my dream journaling, and now I’m trying to figure out how to make sense of written dreams. Today’s one was so long that I described it in Russian, though I get used to applying English. It took me almost the whole page. I tried the free association technique, but it wasn’t quite successful. Perhaps I have to read more about psychoanalysis and analytical psychology to learn some tricky stuff. However, as I like to do it in many other fields, I would prefer to start relying on my intuition, and only after a sufficient period of independent practice read acknowledged specialists. So I want to say that reading Freud’s or Jung’s interpretations of dreams and applying their fantasies for my own work doesn’t seem to be a good way to begin with. I understand that all interpretations are purely subjective, and the quality of analysis rests on practical experience which you get trying to interpret as many dreams as possible and compare the results. I may take any dream, turn on a tape recorder and just talk about the dream for 10-15 minutes. Working on this technique every day for a year I’ll figure out what I’m doing right and wrong so that my understanding will be gradually improved. Sounds simple. So let’s get started. I’m going to use the Chinese character "meng" to count this practice.
