1. "Water levels in a reservoir are both as lower, so above  the place of the landslide now became equal"

Press center of News

The blockage on the Bureya Reservoir does not interfere with a free drain of water any more

The sizes the proran [the artificial channel] (in the landslide), created by military explosives technicians on the place in the Bureya Reservoir, considerably increased during a spring high water. Capacity the proran increased up to more than 7 thousand cubic meters per second. ... A forecasts of some scientists which were disproved by calculations of military engineers and hydrologists earlier were not confirmed:  there is no danger of flooding of settlements, the natural erosion of the proran by the current of water and the restoration of the riverbed of the Bureya continues.

Water levels in a reservoir are lower and above the place of the landslide - evened out. Thus, the blockage ceased [stopped] to create the "threshold". The landslide [the blockage] is not an obstacle for a free drain of water of the Bureya River any more.

Under the influence of a current there was a natural increase in width and depth the proran. Now a  vessels of a small size there [through the proran] can pass.

Washout of a blockage continues, according to forecasts of experts this process will take long time.

The flood situation is estimated by experts as quiet. The management of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Measures of Russia in Khabarovsk Krai made the decision on withdrawal of group of rescuers from the place of the landslide.

Today water level in the Bureya Reservoir makes 242.16 m, having increased in 10 days by 5.5 m. At the same time water level in a reservoir above a blockage dropped [decreased] during this time by 7 m. ... ... the Bureya hydroelectric power station works in the usual mode, planned filling of a reservoir and power production continue.

The landslide in the top part of the Bureya Reservoir became one of the largest in Russia: according to the updated data of its length made 800 meters, height over water level – from 7.5 to 46 meters, the volume about 34 million cubic meters of mainly rocky breed. The reservoir was divided into two isolated parts, the blockage separated 28% of  net volume from the Bureya Reservoir. The ... river was blocked that created threat of flooding of the settlements located above a blockage, flooding of engineering constructions of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, risks for navigation on the Bureya River and threat of uncontrollable passing of a spring flood.

The forces and means of the Russian Defense Ministry were used, according the order of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, for the restoration of the normal hydrological mode of the Bureya Reservoir,  also for clearing of the bed of the river and carrying out a drilling-and-blasting [explosive] works. The military personnel with assistance of specialists of RusHydro carried out explosive works that allowed to create by the beginning of February, 2019 the proran into the blockage [into the natural dam]. Through the proran hydraulic communication of two parts of a reservoir was reestablished." []
