Mind Transformation 330
My thoughts are getting less vague. After I decided to focus on meaning and pay little attention to expression, I found that it’s pretty easy to write if there is no need to think about the quality of writing at all. It’s like to get rid of any censorship and write everything without worrying whether it turns out good or bad. When you think about what you’re doing and why, it has no value to make your thoughts look shiny by describing them using attractive words. So the point is just to write down whatever you have in your mind and be honest.
Now, my mind is filled with thoughts about Tolle’s book “The Power of Now”, which is really a nice book to practice my skill of critical thinking on it. The book is awfully superficial, and today I spent another few hours writing about it. I tried to think about all this metaphysical crap in Russian, and the result satisfied me quite well. I wrote the whole page comparing Tolle with ancient metaphysical teachers, though without naming anyone personally including Tolle himself, so that it turned out a little sarcastic and demonstrative simultaneously. All I tried to show was that these people who consider themselves being enlightened and hold their vague ideas as if it were the absolute truth, may look as foolish as anyone else if someone, who has gone little further, dares to provide more genuine understanding of what they are talking about. It’s somehow appears to be their basic feature always to claim that there is something that no one, except them, can understand. But it’s also their main weakness. Since someone else can convince others that he also got it, no one can be sure that both of them aren’t just mere falsifiers.
