The Monologue about the work of Theresa Mary May

The Monologue about the work of Theresa Mary May

One of the famous Soviet, Russian cultural figures, the honored person, once in an interview very much praised and admired North Korea. He repeatedly visited this country by the invitation of North Korean leadership.

However, during the interview there was a paradox moment. The question sounded: and he would like, - personally, - to live in North Korea on position of "the average citizen".

The cultural figure answered in the sense that he already got used to (partly) European way of life in Russia and life of the "ordinary" citizen of North Korea for him – is not possible.

Nobody so harmed own interests (and so harmed Europe, the European way of life) as Russia.

The attention can be directed to historical details – such as, for example, the ideas and practice of labor armies.

It is possible to look at a situation more widely. Russia promoted destruction of that world order which was created by Europe by the beginning of the 20th century. This huge activity was shrouded in a set of beautiful, noble words.

But what it brought to "average" Russian citizens? Heavy and not very generously remunerative work?  Relative political lawlessness?

If to estimate, in general, a "noble" aspirations of Russia in attempt to make happy all people of the whole world, then we will see big historical processes (destructive to the world order of the early 20th century)  and – nothing good for Russia (there is no wish to pass to a slang – many people of "noble" aspirations and that benefit which was brought to them … did not estimate).

To neither "Western world", nor Europe, nor Great Britain to thank Russia (USSR) by and large - no reason…

Perhaps, Russia is what to be proud? Alas … not the high standard of living, the increasing emigration …

Of course, Russia (USSR) fought for new world order! For example, Hong Kong was the British territory (under the Treaty of Nanking of 1842 Hong Kong turned into "eternal possession of Great Britain" ("in perpetuity")). However, Hong Kong in 1997 the "eternal possession" stopped being  …

Whether Russia should be positive to this event?

In the 21st century the Sakhalin Region Duma (the local parliament) adopted several statements (addresses) concerning the Kuril Islands.

A lot of things in the world are interconnected …

It only seems to someone that Russia stopped being a part of Europe …

Yes, "average" Russian citizens do not live in conditions of full European cultural and economic standards. But, still, they do not live like North Korean citizens.

Europe has nothing to thank Russia for, on the one hand. But on the other hand, Europe has something, a lot, to thank and respect Russia for.

When one of the trade ships of Russia got into difficulties near the British port, the high-ranking government employee of Great Britain made a phone call to the Russian Embassy and said that the British organizations will take all necessary measures for solution of the problems. The civilized, gentleman's attitude of one developed country to other developed country.

The "average" Russian citizen would like to live at the level of the European standards – like, for example, people are living in Great Britain.

But …

However, "average" Russian citizens did not turn into "average" citizens of North Korea.

And it – is very good! It is big achievement! The Russian citizens got used to (partly) European way of life …

Not everything, naturally, depends in this question on the western, European countries, on their leaders. But – a lot of things.

Personally I thank for efforts on a saving of the European standards of life (let and not the highest, not the most perfect) the western, European countries, their leaders, and personally – Theresa Mary May.

She worked (and continues to work) for the benefit of Great Britain, for the benefit of the British, in interests of Europe, "Western world", all civilized world …

Among those who felt advantage of her activity there were also "average" Russian citizens …

Someone will cite counter-arguments, will not agree... To argue, to discuss - it's not easy  … We are - not in Great Britain …

But, nevertheless, we not in the North Korea … In this circumstance there is Theresa May's merit.
