The working group on plans of adaptation of killer whales of "whale prison" in Primorye recommended to provide marine animals with GPS trackers before their release to the native habitat, the Ministry of Natural Resources in response to inquiry of State Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection reported.

Earlier it was reported that killer whales from "whale prison" will be released to the native habitat during an summer-autumn season in the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as scientists recommended. The Ministry of Natural Resources in response to inquiry of State Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection reported about it.

WHY INSTALLATION OF TRACKERS AND ANY OTHER DEVICES ON THE LET-OUT MARINE ANIMALS CAN CAUSE OBJECTIONS?


1. If to be guided by contents of information distributed by media, then the release of marine animals from "whale prison" is made for preservation of sea fauna. About any installation of any technical devices on the let-out marine animals any speech in statements of the nature protection organizations as it is possible to guess, was not/.

On the Internet information on the beluga found in the Baltic Sea was widespread. On a beluga the webcam was installed. The webcam was attached to a body of a marine animal by means of the pulling together belt. ("On an animal there was a belt with ... the GoPro camera. Naturally, the belt is one of ways of fastening.

At the same time, information about the web camera on Beluga, found in the Baltic sea, suggest that technical devices interfere with the normal life of marine animals.


2. The defendants in the case (claims) of environmental organizations were several commercial firms. However, as follows from the explanations of the supporters of these firms, the activities of the trappers relied on the support of a number of scientific and other organizations.

Installation of technical devices on animals may indicate the desire to maintain control over animals even in the case (in the situation) of their (formal) release.


3. Who and how will collect and interpret the information received from technical devices?

"Ordinary" citizens do not know exactly, but can guess.

It can be assumed that the result of this interpretation will be directed against environmental organizations.

(I have just heard a fragment of a radio program where one of the speakers spoke about some "demonstrations" in which one of the participants (who?) raised the question of legalization of something prohibited... Among the flow of words was made a couple of times a pause and then separately and loudly speaker stated: "It is agents of a drug mafia!!!" - the Style of work from information and its processing - is clear.  What are these "demonstrations"?... It seems someone was detained not so long ago?  And something was heard about some forbidden affairs? Whether storage … whether distribution …).


4. Trackers, other technical devices, collection, processing, interpretation of information - all this additional state budget money... Further I do not continue a thought and it is so clear...

As far as I could draw conclusions, hearing about Jean-Michel Cousteau, his employees and his activities, a marine animals are under a consistent, comprehensive, long-term scientific observations. Naturally, this activity is carried out on a broad international basis.

No need for some fragmentary information from some trackers.


5. This and the following considerations are hypothetical. Nevertheless. Let's try as in chess to forsee for a several steps.

The press, Let's assume, is transmitted information about the death of a number of released animals. Supporters of nature protection organizations are not able to verify its truth. As shows experience, to the information some figures not so easy  allow an access.

They loudly speak about the competence. About the observations made by them, about the prepared reports, about a maps which are available for them etc. They are "filled" with information. But where (to read) these reports?

How can the press and the public react to information about animal deaths?

"Under blow", "under pressure" there is in such option a nature protection movement and important ecology-human rights activity.


6. If the press will be thrown information about the sick animals, about the threats to their lives - no one will be able to object.

And the offer again to catch these animals can follow such information (on them it is supposed to install trackers!). Those will be caught, (who were let out), or - others? It will become clear later. The main thing - the help is necessary. And we have to render it! We have to help! Urgently! (Familiar song).

In this hypothetical scenario, the important and necessary efforts of many people end in disaster. A moral and reputational disaster... A disaster in every sense...


CONCLUSION.


Installation of trackers or other devices on the let-out marine animals (according to my personal opinion) – the illegal and harmful plan.
