Tess of the d’Urbervilles.
I’ve decided to read another Hardy’s novel. That is “Tess of the d’Urbervilles”, which is 50 pages shorter than “Jude…” I guess I’ll read it for four or five days. I’m not going to rush, though will try to get to the end as fast as possible. Besides, there is “The Personal History of David Copperfield” by Dickens waiting for me, and I have no desire to postpone our meeting.
So I expect that “Tess…” is going to be as comprehensible as “Jude…” The latter was read so fast and left mostly positive impressions because of its sufficient level of understanding. As I said before, it’s amazing when a book can keep your attention for several days so that you don’t care about other things at all. But what even better is when you can focus on the collected works of a brilliant author and immerse into reading for weeks or months. If “Tess…” is written with the same passion as “Jude…” I’ll go to the library and take other Hardy’s books to learn his works more thoroughly.
Ok, there is something else I have to mention here. I’ve finished drinking antibiotics, and now I hope my condition must be improved to the level where it was before the disease. I’m going to recover my exercises and reestablish the order where there was a strong competition between the will and intelligence. I’ve had enough rest. I certainly have time to invest in practicing wushu, so let’s do it.
