I forgot to mention that recently I had a quite intense lucid dream. Unlike many other lucid dreams, that appear periodically, this one contained an unusual element. Being aware of what was going on, I found a partner to practice martial arts. It wasn’t very clear, and I spent a lot of time explaining how to fight to this damn phantom of my dream instead of really having a fight with him.
I think lucid dreams are really good for practicing any kind of art, so, perhaps, I should invest more time into learning this stuff. I also think that writing down my intention to focus on lucid dreams is already a big step to the so-called “inevitable awakening”. However, according to my current worldview there is no real difference between a controlled and uncontrolled dream. If everything is predetermined, lucid dreams are just another version of imaginary freedom. If feels like there is “you” that can do whatever it wants without worrying about consequences, but eventually all actions—here and there— have a certain course. Nonetheless, lucid dreams are awfully useful to examine your consciousness and widen its horizons, even though they belong to the same game.
A few points to add for support of hard determinism. Having realized this concept and grasped it not only intellectually but through your feelings, you’re freed forever from suffering, disappointments, remorse, resentment, etc. All this no longer makes sense. We suffer mostly because we think that we could avoid this or that by acting differently if we would only have whatever it may be. But there wasn’t something we could change and there won’t be such a thing ever. Everything is right. Or wrong—if it’s our destiny.
