The little turnip grew sweet, and solid, and huge.
Grandpa then went to pluck it: heave ho, no can do.
So, grandpa called for grandma.

Grandma took hold of grandpa,

So, grandma called for lassie.

Lassie took hold of grandma,
Grandma took hold of grandpa,
Grandpa took hold of the little turnip —
Yo-heave-ho, no can do.
So, lassie called for Doggy.

Doggy took hold of lassie,
Lassie took hold of grandma,
Grandma took hold of grandpa,
Grandpa took hold of the little turnip —
Yo-heave-ho, no can do.
So, Doggy called for Kitty.

Kitty took hold of Doggy,
Doggy took hold of lassie,

So, Kitty called for Mousy.

Mousy took hold of Kitty,
