Etude 4. Lorelei's Songs.

In the debate about the future of humanity in the Era of Robotics and AI i.e. EraRA, only arguments of Techno-Pessimists and so-called Techno-Optimists are heard.

Techno-Pessimists scare people with the threat of losing their jobs and income due to the occupation of their jobs by robots and AI.

Techno-Optimists, on the other hand, delight people with the prospects of a lifetime job (where automation has not yet trickled) and a basic income barely sufficient for minimum living standards to motivate the unemployed to find any new, even very bad, job.

In 2019, in Germany, the leader of the EU, I saw this image from the Techno-Optimistic future. A large, hi-tech garbage machine was moving slowly along the street of Aachen, collecting garbage from the roadway. On the sidewalk and ahead of the machine gone three workers with brooms who were pushing garbage from the zone along the curbs onto the road in front of that machine...

Obviously, Politicians Techno Optimists promise for humans analogical jobs.

Such irresponsible leaders, who sing charming songs to the people, want to win elections by any means.
But for them, the reward should be the "Lorelei Award", which lured the ships to the rocks of the Rhine with her wondrous singing, not the right to lead people to a better future.
