Dream. I’m in a place where there are lots of slot machines. I’ve got two coins which I can use to play in a few games. I’m walking from one machine to another trying to figure out which one of them is better to play. The place somehow is separating into two parts. I’m in one of them and I see strange machines which remind subway escalators. They made out of ropes and I use them to lift myself up. Suddenly there is a problem with these ropes and I’m stuck with them. Eventually a manager shows up and cuts the ropes, so I fall down, though it’s a relatively small height, and that’s okay.
Then it’s somehow my birthday. I’m with X, and it seems as if I were about to get married a girl who has previously sexual relationship with him. Her name is Y and there is just one step to marry her, but then I’ve realized that it’s a kind of absurd. So I rejected the idea; X and me went at a cafe. There we met Z, X’s wife, and this bloody Y, who, probably, was waiting for marriage, and some other people. I didn’t say anything about my birthday and people were talking about their own things.
There is a kind of election. A few candidates are giving their speeches, and  one of them forgot what he was going to say. So he is ashamed and another candidate uses it for his own advantage. But he is also a damn idiot and can’t say anything relevant to the situation. I’m thinking about giving my own speech but then I change my mind.
That’s the dream.
So today, as usually on Sunday, I conducted the speaking club at ICC. The topic of discussion was chosen at the beginning of the week, so I had plenty of time for preparation. However, it turned out that no preparation was actually needed, because after I asked people to think for a minute about The Future and make up just one question, they came up with so many different questions that the next 90 minutes we were working them out. A asked about the future of energy after we run out of oil; B, what will be your first query you type on google if you appear at 2100; C, will people be replaced by robots at 2040; D, how many languages will be there at 2100; E, what one should do to fulfill his or her dreams in the future; F, will people be dumber in the future; G, how many people will be living in our city at 2050?
Besides, we watched a video for a few minutes with J. Peterson talking about the idea of sacrifice which was closely related to the discovery of concept of future by mankind.
In general, I would say, that the whole thing turned out quite interesting, so it makes sense to consider this way of making a conversation like a model for future events. Instead of focusing on some profound ideas or topics, it’s better to start from a kind of damn things and then to see what’s possible to get out of them. At least everyone was engaged in a discussion and by making questions had the opportunity to develop their thinking, etc.
