5. Brother 7
- I want to go outside! I want to go outside!
And then she ran to the door before he could stop her. But the door was already closed.
- What have you done! Open up at once!!
She pulled hard on the handle.
- No, you don't understand! This is for not disturbing us.
- I'm starting to scream!
She was scared and drunk enough to carry out her threat. But she didn't have to shout. There was a quiet but insistent knock outside.
After exchanging a couple of phrases with the newcomer, Nitram opened the door, and Martha jumped out into the corridor as a bullet, almost knocking down Mengistu, the little owner of the room.
Nitram caught up her on the stairs, but the stubborn girl grabbed the railing with a dead grip. He tried to tear her fingers off by force, but suddenly he laughed and looked at Martha, as at an overly naughty child.
- You will go like this, wonderful, without your scarf and hat?
- Bring me here, I'll get dressed here.
- Martha, you can't do that. We are guests. We have to say goodbye. What will he think?
“I don’t care! Blame yourself! Anyway, I'll never see him again. " But his soft tone had an effect, and out loud she said:
- Okay, I'll say goodbye to him, but I won't go into the room!
They went out into the night. A fresh breeze blew in her face, and Martha felt much better. Now that the danger was over, this short adventure seemed to her so exciting!
Nitram was the first to break the silence.
- I am not glad.
- It's not my fault, - she said nonchalantly.
- Who is in fault?
- Not me.
- Do you think you're right?
- Yes, I'm right.
He thought about it.
“Yes, probably you are,” - and a mischievous smile lit up his face. - When you are like that, I’m interested, seriously!
He pulled her to himself, hugged tightly, and with surprise felt that her lips willingly respond to his kiss. On the street Martha felt completely safe so why not study?
- On the street you kiss me with interest, - he smiled.
Well, he had a lovely smile! For some reason now he seemed taller and stronger to her, especially after she clearly felt his strength in the room.
- At home, dad and mom do not allow me to invite a girl. They know that I am an adult. I’m not allowed to marry as I want.
Martha perfectly understood his move - wow, how prudent! He immediately informed her of the existing restrictions, but she was not at all interested in perspectives - she had already decided everything: this was the first and last meeting.
They kissed again. They kissed and kissed at every step, under every lantern and in secluded corners, completely forgetting about the time and the world around them. Martha liked his full, persistent hot lips, and in her innocence she did not even suspect what her kisses were doing to him, because in the room she only defended herself. Nitram hugged her with such force that she nearly suffocated.
- I'll go with you!
In her heart she laughed: "What a strange guy!"
- You can't come to me. At home I have an aunt, an uncle, a grandmother and four brothers.
- I'm not afraid of your brothers! - He exclaimed fervently. - Four brothers? .. I never listened to so many children here ... Can I be the fifth?
She was amused and puzzled by his passion. For her, he was a stranger, and she did not understand: what happened to him? Why was he so attached to her?
Finally, they came to the bus stop, where it was still quite crowded, despite the late hour (the hour hand was approaching twelve), hid themselves behind one of the houses where hot cakes were sold during the day, and kissed, kissed, and kissed.
- Martha, come with me!
She just laughed.
- Marta, you're not a human! Don’t you want me? Don't want me ?! - “It looks like he is not used to refusals,” - how can I do that you want?
In those minutes, neither he nor she understood what a gap lay between their sensations, perceptions and goals; between his experience and her innocence, between his mature passion and her childish curiosity, between his indomitable desire to satisfy this passion and her desire so that curiosity does not lead her too far; between the intensity of emotions, unexpected for him, and her light, barely perceptible sympathy with an ethnographic shade. Therefore, they both seemed strange to each other.
Martha was not even sure that she understood him correctly: does he really want THIS from her and think that IT could be between them ?! If she had known in advance about such his intentions, she would not have come close to him! Therefore, to his question: "When will I see you again?", she, without hesitation, blurted out:
- Never. I don't want to date anymore.
- WHAT?! Why??? - He exclaimed, completely confused.
And she answered innocently:
- Because I don't feel anything for you.
- What ?! Don't you feel anything? - his amazement was natural, he even pushed her away from himself in anger, but immediately pressed her to his chest again. - How can you then? ..
Although Martha told the truth, she thought, “He's right. Indeed, it is not good. " And, trying to rectify the situation, as well as sparing his male pride, she slightly corrected her remark:
- Well, not really nothing ... something ... but ...
- If it’s like today, it’s enough for me,” - he said calmly.
And again this phrase was understood by her in a different sense than what Nitram put into it. She understood this as a promise not to cross the known line - hugs, kisses, but no more - "As it is today, it’s enough."
And she hastened to believe this as if a promise. To this misunderstanding Nitram owed the fact that she agreed to meet with him again.
